try moth balls. or cats
Never argue with an idiot; He'll beat you to death with stupidity.
I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"

Keep all food products out of the boat, set victor traps on the floor around the boat -they are cheap--bait with peanut butter, open rod lockers ect often the longer the boat sits quiet, they move in if you disturb them and trap em all good if they take a foot hold trouble.....moth balls and ammonia repels rodents and coons
the best way to catch a big one is don't lose um sharp hooks set drag retie!

According to the old timers that fish the Owens River for Brown Trout, you hook them rats just under their coat, use of a wood shingle is optional...
Re: Dirty Rats
I hear ya on the big brown lakes with an offshore breeze drift em out on a shingle and jerk em off and hold on...back to bassin'....and Ive never done the shingle thing just heard about it..

Re: Dirty Rats
If you have your boat tied up and away from the dock, put some funnels (like oil plastic ones) on the roap. Face the funnel opening towards the dock by sliding the rope through the funnel. Rats/mice cant climb over the funnel.
