BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
I was reading a BASS Magazine article about the Elite series 2010 tourney schedule. They said the CA Delta would be one of the toughest fisheries they will encounter in thier schedule due to the areas size (1000 miles of waterway) and tidal influence.
Do you think that most of the pro anglers will be catching good quality sacks each day or will you see only a few pros (<20?) doing well and the rest struggling to get a limit by day three?
Do you think that it will be won by a pro that considers the Delta his 'home' water?
How much total weight will it take to win the Elite Delta tourney?
I am curious what you guys think who regularly fish the CA Delta.
It should be an exciting event!

I think 4 guys will have 100lbs at the end of the tourney.
Winner about 112 for a 28lb average.
I think Takahiro Omori will win.

Re: BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
Delta is fishing tough right now 53-54 degree dirty water and this cold snap isn't going to help. Somebody is going to get em (Ish Monroe) -- I predict 23lbs per day average to win. Check the AC results last weeked for East Delta 21.84 to win and most those guys are "Delta Rats".
Re: BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
If it stays somewhat tough...My prediction is Mark Tyler.
Re: BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
I think the weights will be lower than you guys think. 20 a day will be a good weight and just might win. If the weather held up like they said it would, I would say 100+. But with the over night temp dropping down in the 30's, I'm sure it knocked the bite down a notch. We'll see.......

Yeah mike, that weather was looking real good... Last week I was thinking it was going to be WFO. But, still think there will be someone breaking 100. maybe not 4. Still like Takahiro.

Ish will make the top 10 and the western guys will dominate.
However, many of those other Elite guys took guide trips with locals that showed them there best water. There could be a dark horse.

I'm not exactly fans of these old timers but I would think Denny Brauer and Biffle will do better than last time. But I think Ish, Ike, Aaron and Takahiro will be the ones in the mix.

As I said before! Go Mark Tyler! Really improved skill set and knows the river!
You can't count out Martens as he has won here before. Plays into Ish's Strength as well....Let;s just say it's gonna be FUN

Dont count out KVD he's not going to let the delta bite him in the a-- again. he's been on a roll. I think he will make the mix. All the elite guys should thank god DEE or Dave's not fishing.
Re: BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
This place is fishing tough, I think it will only take 10-12 a day to make the top 50! It wouldn't surprise me that only 15 pounds a day at 45 makes the final day cut! If the calm, cold sunny or overcast days continue, this indeed will be one of their toughest events of the season.
If they get a few windy, ugly days like yesterday, you can add 5 pounds a day to my predictions! I'm sure you'll see some 20 sacks, but not as many as we'd wanna believe will come, now if it starts to warm like the say, the 3rd & 4th day of this event could be off the hook!
I'm just gonna echo my earlier thoughts, this is gonna be their greatest challenge ever on this River this week. Ya just gotta love it when the best anglers at this level, are attacking a great fishery, that is being real fickle! Yer gonna here a lot about guys catching fish on jigs, paddletails and cranks!

92 lbs and blades and cranks if the weather conditions continue to stay inconsistent. These cold nights are really going to tighten things up.

Re: BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
I agree with Andrews, after being on the water the past few days, and seeing what is going on out there. Somebody will find them, they always do! With that said and as nasty tough as the bite is, I see no way in snowball hell of it taking over 85lbs to win this. As for who is going to win it ???? Would love to see Ike in the mix, but probably gonna see Ish & Martin bangin it out? Just my two cents

Re: BASS Elite Delta Tournament predictions
You have to go with a west coast guy. Ish Skeet Litner Martens, in that order. Expect Skeet to catch them flipping on the final day, he has got some new flipping sticks to push. It will take 93 pounds to win.
Remeber the stren last year when Ish blew the thing out of the water, I was embarrassed, and I'm sure there were alot of other guys embarrassed to. Yo Ish take it easy on them.
