What engine to get?
I am getting a 2010 Nitro Z8 and am trying to figure out what eng to get either the 225 Pro XS OptiMax® witch cost $1,600 dollars more than the 225 optimax i was wondering what that 1600 bucks would get me if we are talking about 1 or 2 mph high end speed faster forget it if we are talking about lasting longer and being more reliable then i might consider it. thanks for any help.
Re: What engine to get?
The Pro Xs is a 3 star engine, has a better lower unit and turns more rpm's. Not even sure if you can get the regular 225 even shipped into Calif anymore. Rick G.

Re: What engine to get?
I just went through the same dilemma between a 150 optimax and the 175 pro xs. If you look at mercury website you can compare the two engines through their independent boat tests. Both motors should have the same warranty.
