I want to thank BASS for an almost POINTLESS drive to the Delta, hotel rooms, missed work.
I signed up in Jan to be a Marshall. The fellow on the phone (who I'll admit did not sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer) took my card number, asked if I wanted to do Sat, (said yes) asked what size shirt I wore, and said when asked, I was in.
Went up Tues, fished Wednesday morning, about 15lbs, and went to registration, where I was told my name wasn't on the list. WHAT!? Called the office gave me the date of the CC charge, went back and told them, they said sorry, but we have some cancellations so maybe you can standby. While waiting I talked to a few fellows who had the same experience. Some got in some did not. I did not. Nice job BASS. It really isn't that tough to keep those kinds of records straight.
The good part. Launched out of Ladds and saw a good number of the guys launching for practice. Funny, Guy Eaker just backs in let's the boat float off, drives parks and runs back...guess he just hopes for the best. Maybe I'll try that some day. (doubt it)
Went for a test run in the new Skeeter with the SHO on it. Only one word:holycrap! Mark Lassagne took me out for the ride (great guy, great magazine...thanks Mark) And that is by far the quickest/slickest motor/boat combo, truly impressive.
So it was a mixed few days. Fun to fish the Delta again, fun to see some of the names we all hear about, and fun to have found my next boat! Oh well.

A lot of guys have floated there boat over the years. I did it all the time. Someone was there launched and would give you a ride.

BrothA Dunlapp and I watched Hollywood do it on Castaic last June while we were comming in.
Perdy Cool !
....... I'll wait till Summer to try it - and make sure I don't have my cell phone on me "next time" when I accidently back in my boat to far ~ and it floats off the trailor.

PS- Sorry to hear you got hosed adman.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

all of the marshalls received a packet in the mail, explaining the rules. Did you get this packet, and then were told you weren't confirmed?

It's not difficult to do and it sure free's up a launch ramp fast! Why get out of the boat when I can float it off the trailer and walk right over to it?
