Watched him on the cam. He looked miserable. Could barely get around. Weighed only 5 lbs.

saw the camera stuff as well. He looked very misserable. The spot that he was at still had a breeze as well. Looked like a spot I fish as well. A little south maybe.

I watched the same coverage and yes it did look like he was having alittle trouble getting around.BUT if you also watched it enough it her seemed to me that he had a lot of wasted time. Not sure what he was catching but it looked like some sort of trout or something. I saw him catch at least 4 of these fish and it seemed to take him forever to get them un-hooked and thrown back into the water. He was fumbling around and seemed unsure of himself.Just seemed like a lot of down time. Now if you were watching him you were probably watching Reese as well. YES, he is not hurt or whatever but talk about a machine. Never saw him miss a chance to have his bait in the water. Just my thoughts.

He was catching Stripers. I was surprised, he acted like he was afraid of the Stripers fins. He wouldn't grab it. On one, he held the fish down with his foot while he removed the hook. Also noticed he spent a lot of time messing with his tackle. He just looked like he was completely off his game.

Those little stripers will tear your hands up. The gill plates are sharp as razors and the dorsals are like needles. Not fun to handle at all.

Also, where are you guys finding the live on-boat feed?

+1 On small stripers. Handle them like a ticking- time- bomb. Or your day on the water might end with a visit to the E.R.
Aaron Marten handled those little turd's ,WITH LOTS OF CAUTION!! Text Book in my oppion.

All I can say is that Aaron is a stud! Hearing that he has ripped his muscle and stuck it out, and seeing him the last two days confirming how bad it sounded, my hat is off to him for just being out there competing. I know he was disappointed today, but he certainly has nothing to be ashamed of.

Better luck at Clear Lake Aaron!

I agree these guys are studs! I am not star struck but what seems from the outside to be a fantasy life might be tougher than we all think. I was coming home from class the other day looking at all the boats heading west toward whever they are staying.

The thing that stuck out the most is that they are all ALONE! Try driving 3000 miles to get here then compete on very complex fisheries.

my hat is off to the road warriors! Hope Martens takes care of his injury as it sucks getting old! :)

I talked to him in the parking lot at Ladd's at the end of day 2. He didn't have a limp at all. As a matter of fact, he was talking to me when he jumped from his front deck onto the ground to get out of his boat. I commented, "I guess the leg's feeling better?" and he didn't comment.
Either he's on some pretty good meds, or it wasn't as bad as it appeared to begin with.
