You want a sun screen that is water resistant, UVA-UVB 30 SPF with zinc oxiide. Sun screen that isn't water resistant will get into your eyes and cause you not to use it. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer is a good unscreen, just don't use it on your face.
I use a product called Solumbra Active 30 SPF, on my face and SolBar SPF 50 water resistant. Put the sunscreen on before you dress and touch up every 3 to 4 hours as needed. I also use Sun-Days Afternoons hats and long sleeve sports shirts.
Cancer is a killer, don't think it as just skin cancer.

I stock up on this stuff crazy when i can. Costco usually has the twin packs for sale!

Banana Boat Sport SPF 50 lotion version in an orange tube. It's unscented (won't attract the bees). The spray version has a fragrance. Lotion is also non-greasy. Best I've used.

Ditto! PLus one The best out there is something called Badger SPF 30. It is rated number one... period.

Titainum Dioxide is the key,.. like zink it's the best, lesser sunscreens are a waste of money ..Why buy for less when the good stuff does the job and dosn't cost much in the long run? Nuetragena is good stuff it works believe me even if I can't spell...

a little on the nose and ears helps, but a good hat and a longsleeve Under Armour "heat gear" under shirt does the best job. A lot of people think I'm crazy for wearing a long sleeve in the summer, but I'm an overweight, hot natured person and i swear they keep you cooler than bare skin in the sun. 100% uv protection too. Gotta get the heat gear tho. it's designed to keep you cool and wick away the sweat from the body. try it

I've been using Blue Lizard Sensitive Australian Sunscreen 30+. Its SPF 30+ is comparable to many SPF 50-60 products from the US due to the fact that the SPF test is done after the skin is immersed in turbulent water. Blue Lizard is a physical blocker, which uses Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide. I've tried chemical blocker sunscreens and they often irritate my eyes and don't last as long, requiring more frequent application. The downside to physical blockers is the white pasty look if applied too liberally.

Be careful with the spray on stuff in your boat. If it gets on your electronics it will screw the screen up. And I dont know what it does if it gets on my fishing gear, including the line on the spools, but I do know I dont want it on that stuff. I dont let people use sprays on in my boat.

I have used Sol Sunguard now for several years. I like it because it has absolutely no odor, perfumes or residue and is prescription grade. Also, it does not sting if it should get in your eyes.

During a tournament show, the guy literally put the stuff in his eyes to show me .

I bought several tubes at http://www.solsunguard.com/bluewater.html. There are several retailers who have it, but I just contacted the factory because I wanted to buy several bottles.

I use it primarily on my face and then any brand on my legs and arms. Most recently I have been using Banana Boat.

I've had cancer twice so I don't screw around, besides the product having zinc oxide and a high spf it should be applied before the sun hits your eyes. I keep ivory soap in my boat to wash my hands after the second application, usually after 12-1pm depending upon the time of year. I use Water Babies 50 spf I think by coppertone. It's more expensive but worth it and has zinc oxide. After applying you should look like a ghost, as you skin absorbs the sunscreen you will look like yourself again. Even if you wear a shirt covering your shoulders I suggest applying the SS to the tops and sides of your shoulders and the back and front of the neck and don't forget your ears!! The sun can burn you though your light weight shirt!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer, SPF 45. Agreed, this is good stuff. I also am there with Brother Day, I wear a long sleeve breathable cotton shirt SPF 35 and pants SPF 35. Along with a wide brim hat, I have not moved to the gloves for the hands yet, but dont forget to apply sun screen to your hands.

The shirts go for approximatly 30 bucks and are worth it, the pants run for about 50, the ones I have are pants that zip off to shorts. Available at Cabelas, Bass Pro, or Sportsman Warehouse.

The columbia SPF shirts are pretty decent. The SPF gloves are a good bet as well and will keep you from getting sun spots on your hands. They may look dorky but are well worth the negative points on your man card.
