On BASSMASTERS website, Skeet said he fished the "south" Delta. Some areas he hadn't been to in years.

They are sponsored and the sponsors want us to copy them in all ways possible.

They want us to buy the same boats tackle baits and etc. They are our idols and allmost everyone will copy their idols. Honor their fishing space during the tournament but jump on it when the tournament is over.

If we all considered it dishonorable to learn everything that we can from the pros. The tournament circuits would soon go bankrupt.

As for the "find your own shiet" comments. Whatever. I don't fish the Delta and I could care less where they were. As far as the Columbia, I could also care less, I do have my own stuff to fish. BUT if you think these guys are all fishing their own water you are crazy. The info these guys are privey to is unreal. Maybe not the local guys but the guys from out of town have access to all kinds of info before the info cut off time. Probably already working on there info for Smith Mountain as I type.

Hey Dom

Yes I am still alive and kicking. I have been too busy doing construction work to spend much time here on the forum. At 76 years old and astill working it doesnt leave much energy for fooling around on the forum. I do manage to get in an average of about 6 days a month for fishing. Nice to see that you are still posting on here

Wow, I can't believe some of the replies. We need bass fishing sport to grow and it's very interesting to know where the best pros in the country where fishing, what they were using and how they were using it. Most of the bass industry has been built on this. I am glad the best pros in bass fishing don't act like some of the posts I read.

Bottom line is they demonstrated that there are good fish all over the delta. You just gotta figure out how to catch em. There were 2 anglers fishing my regular water where I been strugling lately and they exposed the fish that I knew where there but could not catch. Thats why folks tell ya to find your own fish. Catching someone elses fish is not always easy.

That said they were pretty much all over the Delta. Look at Kennedy. He cashed a check fishing way North, I mean he weighed spots and smallies. Others like Skeet were way south. If you can afford to beat up your lower unit go for it, he was way
down south past Mossdale.

You want the sport to grow??? Take a newb fishing on an area loaded with 2lbers.
Fishing should be fun.

+1, Stephen Browning was fishing one of my favorite spots and completely different than I do,My son and I watched him catch the 7-2 he weighed on sunday. He was very nice and took the time to talk fishing with my son and even told us to come closer so we could chat without yelling,Super nice guy and he made a huge fan outta my son!Bottom line is I have my own water but was able to learn something new by watching someone else fish it.Very cool experience!

Hmm
Dont you need to go San Joaquin River to get to Mossdale?
How could Skeet be on Old River and also be heading to Mossdale.

Yep, we were fishing the tule islands just above the bridge north of Indian Slough (only 4th time fishing the delta, but I believe that's Old River) when a bright yellow Champion with LUCKY CRAFT on the side & a driver wearing a Yellow jersey & a black Save Phace mask flew by. He was at full boar with two white boats (looked like Tritons) chasing him. Sounds like he ran a long way on Sunday. Someone else posted that they were watching him & when he went to leave & they started packing up, he told them not to bother because he was going a long long way. Wherever he was going, that was the only time we saw him or any Elites. Like someone said, everyone will find out where they were when the show airs anyhow. We just thought it was cool to see that boat up close at speed.

Only saw one fish all day too & it wasn't anywhere near there. Actually we did get a 5lb striper on a white spinnerbait in that spot...

One thing I learned watching the two pros everyday- (via internet, I wish I was up there) the action sucked most, if not all, of the time; and most admitted that was how it was, even the top weighers per day. But they stuck with it, changing up the presentations much more often than I would have ever thought too. They also said they knew at any time things could change with these fish, wishing and hoping and ready for that time when it would. Yeah, they all thought positive, and knew that the bite would come even if it was to be in the last 10 minutes, and for many, it was.

I think that the Delta, as in anywhere, 10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish.

Get with the now guys. It sucks, but is all about info sharing. Do you know that big time pros get on public forums and talk about where the bite is hot, and with what. Only problem with that its on a public forum that you have never herd of, and has ZERO to do with bass fishing. Sucks but its true.

I fished the WRL on Sunday also and we fished areas to the north and did not see one BASS guy...

As far as poaching their water is concerned......These guys have networks unlike anything any of us have ever even considered. All KVD would have to do is to contact a few delta guys and he would have all the info he wanted to get started. If it came from a reliable source, someone like KB that most of these guys know and trust, they would try it, maybe have some luck maybe not. Now imagine these guys getting info like that from 30-40 guys...

A lot of people complain about network fishing, but this is how its done.

Even some of the best Delta sticks out there could not just jump out there and land 25lb bags after a week of prefishing. Just look at tournament results from ABA and other events on the Delta, where top Delta guys dont get the weight some of these guys got.

You guys crack me up! The delta fishes big if you don't follow the crowd. There is more than Franks or following the bassmasters. That is part of the fun learning the delta not tring to fish like somebody else. In the past 5 years i have seen 10 boats where i fish.

We ran into half the elite field on Saturday, roll up to a spot we had going a few weeks ago, and boom boom they were all around like hornets. These guys were spread out every North, Middle, South....just goes to show you fish the water you have the most confidence in. There are big fish all over this river system, figuring them out in one area is the key. Having multiple one areas definatly helps....I think I was a curse for the Elites this weekend everyone we ran into ended up sliding in the points. Example I never saw Hackney, Skeet, or Ike...nuff Said!

I just love how navigable waterways can become "someone's water". Plain and simple fact is there are fish all over the Delta, if they're wasn't the Delta wouldn't be the renowned fishery that it is. I'd be more than happy to camp around someone's dock all day if the bite was good or I'd just assume sit in the middle of the Moke all day if the fish were there.

I'm only scarcely versed on the Delta, but I know there is the potential for good fishing in 95% of the water I see during the day, I've caught them up past New Hope, down in False River, over to Dissapointment and pretty much every where inbetween, and I've only been on the Delta 8-9 times this last Sept/Oct.

Simple fact is, it doesn't matter where any pro catches a huge sack of fish, and it doesn't matter who goes in there after trying to do the same, because it will be their job to put the fish in the boat. Knowledge might make things a little easier, but it can only get you so far.

I know where the top 5-7 Elite guys fish. BUT ... I've lived through an experience that you would not believe. That is one of the top Pro's can put you in their boat. Tell you where to go and give you the bait they are using AND tell you exactly where to put that bait. Chances are you might still not catch the same fish that they do. So like some of the guys said above, forget where they fish. (you'd be surprise to know that some were fishing some community holes) and concentrate on improving your own skills.

Yes, it was educational to see Ike fish an area that I know I and some of you have already fished a thousand times. He was able to pull 25#'s from that area that I would have been lucky to just get bit!! The way these guys catch fish sometimes is just like magic. Truly magical ... I'm just in awe of them.

Actually the one thing that I learned from those guys is how cool and patient they were at an area. How many of you would fish the an area for 6 hours without getting a bite and would leave ... Ike did not leave and ended up with nearly 17#'s that day in basically the same area that he could not get bit!! That's either confidence or ... he had no other place to go ... or both!

My partner and I often joke that we cant catch each others fish...If two guys who fish together often cant catch each others fish, how would any of us be able to catch the elite guys fish...I know were some of them were at and they are community spots as 201 said, I dont think it matters one way or the other I know I can catch my fish here or there and maybe where they were but it does not mean I would be able to catch the same quality they were, and maybe they could not catch the quality I get on some of my spots. I dont know for sure and really dont care, lets just go fishin!!!!
