Albright also has a smaller/lower profile. As easy to tie and have NEVER had a failure. (Never had a failure with the Uni either) but the Albright is slimmer.

When you say you've never had a failure, do you mean when fighting a fish? Or even when breaking off on a snag?

I use the uni-uni knot and at least half the time when I have to break off on a snag, it parts at the uni-uni and not at the lure. That's always a pain in the *** as I have to tie on a new leader. If the Albright is so strong that the knot at the lure always breaks first, I'll start tying it instead of the uni-uni.

I've never had a uni-uni break while fighting a fish, but it's definitely failed first often when snagged.

How the knot is tied and pulled tight is at least as important as the knot itself. Confidence in your knots and getting consistent results is very important!!! Knots can be tied very well, or very poorly, with HUGE variance in the break strengths.

I use to tie the uni to uni. I've since switched to the albright. The albright is much better in my opinion. As mentioned before, it has a smaller profile. I also believe that it is a stronger knot. The uni to uni cuts into itself making it inherently weak.

Yes Albright has never broken at the knot fish or snag. I also agree that every knot, Palomar, Uni, Albright must be tied properly.

Thanks all... looks like I'll be trying the Albright. I may also give the spro swivel a try on one rod. See how it works.
