Re: WCB Day 2 results?
Maybe they are waiting to announce them in their newspaper but they have to time travel back to the seventies to do it.swordfish wrote:and.. ? what were the results strangely quiet, same with NBW no results so far bring it up...

You guys crack me up...your calling for standing before they even get done with their day..Robert F wrote:Maybe they are waiting to announce them in their newspaper but they have to time travel back to the seventies to do it.swordfish wrote:and.. ? what were the results strangely quiet, same with NBW no results so far bring it up...
You have to give these guys that run these circuits a chance to get things organized after the weekend.
After 3 days of working to put on a event the last thing they are thinking about is to post on a bunch of misc web sites, the standings .
It is easy for them to post the first day standings, because after the first day they have extra time to do things Saturday evening and all Sunday morning while guys are fishing . The time can be spent getting Saturdays weights up on THEIR site first and then on the misc other bass fishng sites of their choice.
Sunday is different story after the weight in, they have the awards, then they have to tear everything down pack things up, clean up after people, which takes a couple hours then drive home or to the office, what time do you think it is now, pretty late I would think.. yes..
You think as soon as they hit the door the first thing on their mind it .. OH .. Oh..I have to get the standings posted on Westernbass.. WRONG.. Maybe spending a few minutes with the wife and kids, you see they have been gone out of town for 3 days, I would expect that to be on their minds.., No???
Then Monday morning I am sure there has to be alot of office work, i.e writing the event stories, sending emails to sponsors, banking, bills, double checking all standings including the weekend weights and YTD standings..ect ect..
They have to get this part of the job right or the "Internet Tournament Statisticians".. would be all over this acussing someone of stealing money, not paying back the proper percentage... ect ect ect and/or other things they just have no clue about.
There is alot of work to it guys.. give them a chance!!
There is alot more to a tournamnet than tossing fish in a bag flipping them on a scale then posting the weights on the internet for all the cry babies to see...
If you want to see numbers .. show up at the events and support this sport or better yet.. kick down some cash and fish them!!
So I guess I am saying STFU they will get them up when they are done with their work.
Rant over for now..

You should work for a government agency (maybe you already do). That was the most professional excuse job I have ever seen since I last visited my local building department. Nobody is asking to have any special dispersion of the super secret results. Posting to the same people that they ask to fish their event is a pretty simple task.
These organizations make money off us. If they are unable to handle copying the results from the computer file that compiled the results maybe they should consider different work. Every job I have had in my life I have liked. You would think some of these people that whine about all the stuff they HAVE to do for a paycheck were indentured slaves.
The people asking for the results are just curious how their buddies did on the water this weekend. We know they didn't win because they didn't call us.

Most organizations have the part down where they post here to get us to show up. Maybe some effort on the part we all like, where they hand out the checks, would be appropriate. My rant is not pointed to one organization. It is just a customer's opinion. Something government agencies do not recognize.
Re: WCB Day 2 results?
I ALREADY POSTED THE WINNER, WTF ELSE DO YOU GUYS NEED TO KNOW? DOES IT EVEN MATTER? BECAUSE ................ AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED................

You guys still don't understand do ya..Tony Lain wrote:COPY, PASTE, SEND... Not that hard is it...?

They have alot more on their minds that to post results for the key board fishermen to look at a couple hours after the event.
Give them a break..and check their web sites, that's were you will see the results first and when they get the business end of their origanization done, I am sure they will post on these bass sites for your viewing pleasure..

I THINK I understand what you are trying to say.. but like I said on a two day tournament.. and after sundays weight in there's alot to do that to post on web sites..

Re: WCB Day 2 results?
I am going to have to agree with RobertF.
In this day forums and internet are such an important part of getting the word out. I dont think a tourney orgs day is over until you post results on the major forums you promote on and the touneys own respective website. I bet there are alot more guys who couldnt fish a particular tourney and are watching updates on forums from home, waiting for results Than fishing it. AND.... Its nice to know before you go to bed what place you got if your not in the money

AGREE 100% with that.....Getting a few of these orgs to realize this is tuff. I was told once, and boy did it hit home and I aint that old yet, "It's hard to train/teach old dogs new tricks".

Well I'll be darned. I'm with Stick on this. First off having been admonished once on this site for posting WCB info, I can say with certainty that:
1. WCB Does NOT ADVERTISE on this site, so postings R irrelevant. ( Nothing personal , but if your told you can get free cable TV, but only if you buy the 750 dollar converter box, whats the hurry, would you run out and get the box if you didn't have the cash)
2. I wouldn't think your fingers are broken, so it doesn't appear you checked their website.
3. So your in San Diego, or wherever, why didn't you tune in to the live web cast for the weighin or awards. (after all you were pre fishing everyday by phone weren't you, and your computer isn't broken it appears?)
BMX is right on with the comment about technology. You all should learn how to operate your computers, and WATCH the RESULTS live on the internet.
Don't mean to come down hard and my appologies to you Robert, but dang man stop whinnin and get your act together before you start with the whinny posts. Stay connected my friend.

Seriously agree.. I like to hear what the results are as soon as they are available from other tournaments, especially when you hear someone sacked them up, but c'mon.. if you're not even there, then quit yer bitchin! Waiting a day or two won't kill ya.. and if you have friends fishing it, you should call and ask them the results.

Internet video weigh-ins do not work. Let's take it down that path now.

Serious note, if the results are not posted here because they are not an advertiser that is OK but they were not posted anywhere when swordie posted his comment.
Back to your beatdown.

Re: WCB Day 2 results?
I couldn't agree more with BMX Mike and Robert.
Whether West Coast Bass promotes their tournaments on W.B. or not, it’s the anglers that make up the forum not the website or the owners.
Fast Eddie, since you seem to be a spokesperson for West Coast Bass, what were the payouts? My fingers aren't broken and I still can't find this info on their website!

Re: WCB Day 2 results?
Listen... I am not making excuses for any of the Orgs.. I just get tired of guys crying cause the results are not posted as quick as some wanted, then they jump on the computer and start the stupid, waaaaa waaaa waaaa....Robert F wrote:How did I become the whipping boy?Fast Eddie wrote: Don't mean to come down hard and my appologies to you Robert, but dang man stop whinnin and get your act together before you start with the whinny posts. Tight Lines
Fast EddieNot that I mind but I just backed up swordfish and pointed out that stick's excuse was full of holes. The one time in the history of man BMX Mike agrees with me his comment gets turned around as well.
Internet video weigh-ins do not work. Let's take it down that path now.![]()
Serious note, if the results are not posted here because they are not an advertiser that is OK but they were not posted anywhere when swordie posted his comment.
Back to your beatdown.

I only said something cause Swordie is yellin for results at 7:23 pm hardly a couple hours after the end of the tournament sunday evening and then you jump in at 6:34 am monday morning with back up..
Jeeeze these bass orgs, all of them don't work 24/7 and they for sure are not required to post on misc webs sites..
Though it is nice to see the end results in a timely fashion, I myself enjoy checking on buddies too, but I am sure it is the least from their minds after a long weekend of dealing with a bunch of bass fishermen ..

Let em get their day done and their bussiness in order, is all I am saying. Check their web sites , that's their first obligation!!!
I am sure when they get caught up, they will do the thanks yous and updates for the key boarders to view.
There are dozens of web sites out there and for guys to be yellin for results to be posted is just not fair. If you want to copy and paste to webs sites go ahead I am sure your buddies will thank you.
Being a advertiser or not has nothing to do with posting results or when they should be posted.
The internet has brought on a whole new demand by the retail public that's for sure..and some of it is alittle over board !!
Re: WCB Day 2 results?
I wasn't yellin' for results just curious and wanted to know cause Bass Fishin' is my life I care and never expect immediate results maybe you need to see a dentist your main nerve has been struck, I give props to tourney workers lots of work weeks ahead of the event to the end I understand that. Those that hype a tourney from the start should follow up in a timley fashion as a follow up to their requests for participation no wah wah wah here never has been never will be.
the best way to catch a big one is don't lose um sharp hooks set drag retie!
Re: WCB Day 2 results?
Right on.. I understand .. I sorry about the yellin comment.. I did not mean it like that .. no nerve struck either.. just had not had my coffee, I guessswordfish wrote:I wasn't yellin' for results just curious and wanted to know cause Bass Fishin' is my life I care and never expect immediate results maybe you need to see a dentist your main nerve has been struck, I give props to tourney workers lots of work weeks ahead of the event to the end I understand that. It sure seems like you were asking for "immediate results.. it was 7:30 sunday night, I bet the staff was not even home yet!
I do understand the excitement bass fishing brings.. but dang, sometimes it just gets old...
The Orgs work hard, they are not getting rich for sure and they are trying to please alot of guys that all seem to have different ideas on how the bass fishing world should be done.....
Just for your info, the results were posted on their web site by 10 am and maybe earlier as that's when I saw them...Future Pro had theirs up about that time too.. I think that is pretty dang timely .. don't you ??
One thing the internet has brought to the key board viewer is on line weigh ins.. And you can view them any time !! Now that is progress!!!

Your WB clock is off. It was 9:30pm. Sunday. You can adjust it in your profile info. It should say GMT-6 hours in the bottom right corner.stickbait wrote: It sure seems like you were asking for "immediate results.. it was 7:30 sunday night, I bet the staff was not even home yet!

Re: WCB Day 2 results?
As someone that actually fished the event, Larry and crew ran a GREAT event. It was WAY better than the event that I fished last year and WAY better than any of the pro/ams that I have fished this year. My hat is off to them for implementing some great processes.
With that said, those of us that spend a lot fo time on the net have come to a point where we compare the posting of results to BASS and FLW which have a much bigger staff and budget and CAN post the results in almost real time.
These weekend pro/ams have their place and Larry and crew have set the bar very high given the resources and level of participation.
I walked away from the event with a very positive experience with West Coast Bass and the way the tournament was run. I will fish more of their events next year when time permits.
Great job Larry!

Re: WCB Day 2 results?
Gator used to have the ABA results posted 5 min after the last fish was weighed in................ Not that difficult. It's called a lap top and mobile broad band card.......

Thanks for that Rick, "All" the tournament Orgs for the most part are getting it dailed in and that's great.Ricky-S wrote:As someone that actually fished the event, Larry and crew ran a GREAT event. Mark, Larry and several of the others are making big strides to make this sport great out west for the weekend bass angler.
My post was directed at the guys that call for results before the water is wiped for the scales. It happens every single weekend and it is getting alittle old.
These Orgs have no responsibility or obligation to post anything on Westernbass, Fishsniffer, ifish, Anglernet.. ect ect ect.. and when they do we should be happy that they are doing this, but to be honest, I believe they would rather have you visit their web sites where their sponsors are listed and all THEIR advertisers are located. That's what they are in business for !

The event went well. The only event I can compare this to is the AC Oroville event that Bill Cook and staff ran.Ricky-S wrote:As someone that actually fished the event, Larry and crew ran a GREAT event. Drawing comparisons on these two events, I would have liked to see Larry start the pairing at 6pm instead of 7pm. IMO, that was too late. The saving grace was only 50 boats. Imagine if there were 150. We'd still be in the parking lot at 8:30 at night.
Pairing partners for day 1 and 2 isn't rocket science yet I was left waiting until the pairing was over to find out who my day 2 draw was. In the future, call boaters up in pairs so everyone meets each other and can swap contact info.
The day 1 blast off was about 10 min late. Day 2 they got it right.
Weigh in was super fast. No lines. No clusters around the ramp and weigh bags were easy to get. Live well checks were easy.
Russo's and the Hook did a great job (like always) with the logistics of launching.
Re: WCB Day 2 results?
I agree the evevt was run great I had a blast. My only issue is the web site. AOY points for 2010 still are not up and this was the second event. And there are no pictures on the web site from either event. Sponsors want the see thier shirts. The web site is my only issue.

You might have better luck emailing their web site as they might not see your request and concerns here on this site..very good points
Re: WCB Day 2 results?
No, you missed the point, this is not the 1800's anymore, It would not be very difficult to at least post the results right after awards. At least not if you own a laptop.stickbait wrote:Gator has never ran a 2 day event and that's what we are talking about.. you too missed the point.. sorryBrian wrote:Gator used to have the ABA results posted 5 min after the last fish was weighed in................
