This will be my first Nut Case event. It's on my list of must do and am waiting for the specifics. I'm looking forward to putting faces to names.
What type of tourney is it, team, individual? Entry fees? Do I get a trophly for ending up in last place? I read there is a pot luck dinner, is it at the ramp.

Man, I so wanted to go to this, I have not been doing many fishing events and was looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Unfotunately, or fortunately depending on ones point of view, Kate and I will be on a plane to Ft Lauderdale to set sail on a Carribean "Blues Cruise" http://www.bluescruise.com

Hope everyone has a great time, catches lotsa fish and has plenty of good food to eat. 2 out of 3 are almost a sure thing, and the 3rd is darn likely at Oroville. Be safe everyone and hope you get nice weather.

Vicky and I will be in on a plane to Sydney Australia to board the Diamond Princess for 13 days of crusing the Austrailian and New Zealand coasts. I'll miss seeing all of the old Nutcases and meeting new ones but you only celebrate your 40th wedding anniversery once and if I have any hope of fishing next year I'd damn well better be on that plane!!!!!!!!!! HAR, Har, Har,

Happy New Year to all

Made reservations last night at a 1 star motel on the Blvd. I think that's hilarious, probably be the best motel yet! Wish I knew more about the tourney, like is it team or draw and when the potluck dinner will be (before or after tourney).None the less, I'll be there with my Skeeter equipped with a Hamby log crashing strip!

They are draw tournaments where each person on the boat fishes for their best 2 bass. We also weight in the best non-bass as their is also an odd-nut award for that. These are very laid back events that are about doing a little fishing and meeting friends. If there is an entry it is small with the proceeds usually benefiting a fishing related charity. No monitary awards, bust usually there are Nut awards given.

General format is meet in the morning at the ramp. Draw for partners. You can fish with your child or significant other (partner????) if you choose. Sometimes those of us that can fit 3 in our boat will go 3 if needed. That probably won't be an issue at Oroville in January.

Each person brings in their best 2 bass and any non-bass things that are leagal and they catch. This is an individual event.

No flights, no starting order, once you are partnered you can leave at will. We usually come in about noon or 1:00pm to weight in. Each person brings a food or drink item and we eat and lie about our day.

Awards are:
Top Nut - Heaviest sack (2 bass (I think) in this case)
Big Nut - Biggest bass
Odd Nut - Biggest non-bass species
Numb Nut - Person who pulls the dumbest stunt of the day.

Win one of these coveted awards and you are ???? till the next event with all the braging rights that entails.

See you there, come have fun.

Non-boaters and any boaters are all welcomed.
