Re: Red Skelton
Greg,
You always have a knack for finding the most poignant and unbiased (relatively) video clips. Being almost 60 myself, I sometimes wish for the morality and wisdom of the television of the 50's and 60's. Lately, I've been watching old westerns, like Have Gun Will Travel, Gunsmoke and others. In retrospect. they were the morality plays of their time . They revered ideals such as faith (not necesarily in God), truth, family and honor. Not like the television of today which seems to glorify violence for the sake of violence, decadence and deviation. Didn't mean to highjack your thread but it inspired me to says something I'd been meaning to say. Not everyone knows that Red was much more than Gertrude and Heathcliff. By the way, I have no particular political affiliation but you might get a kick out this old Bob Hope scene.
