Just got Sad News.....

Just found out that Al Grout passed away on Sunday after a long bout with cancer. One of the best human beings in the world will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the Grout family. Al was truly one of the nicest guys and most up beat person. Very sad news indeed. It was an honor to have known him. Hopefully he's catching bigguns and hitting holes in one in heaven.

Sad news indeed. I had a long talk with Al about 2 weeks ago. His attitude and thoughts were unreal. He was upbeat, joking, and happy. We had a pretty frank talk and I am really glad I got to share this time with him. Al Grout was a friend and a great guy. I will miss him.

Thanks Tony for makin me cry again...............been a rough day

I actually found myself wiping away a tear or three last night myself when I read the news Gator.

For those that might not have had the chance to meet Al, he was kind enough to invite me down to film on DVL a few years ago. We fished and talked about his insurance offers and such. Never was I treated better on shoot. Al picked me up at the airport, we picked up his boat and went and spent a marvelous day on one of my favorite ponds. Then we went and had a great dinner with he and his wife and then he dropped me off back the airport. What a wonderful day and one I'll never ever forget.

wow what a shock, I have known al since we club fished together a long time ago. I saw him maybe 5 months ago, I had no idea he had cancer. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who knew him. could never meet a nicer guy. Scott
