Bassmaster Elite Boats

Post by whazup »

Anyone know the breakdown of the boats used on the tour. I heard today that there are only 7 Rangers in use this year. That kinda surprised me. Just from memory, there seems to be a lot of Tritons.

At Clear Lake, I talked to the mechanic for Nitro, he was changing a trailer wheel bearing on the spare Nitro he hauls around. There were 7 Nitros, mostly Tritons and a few Basscats, don't know the actual breakdown.

FLW is the Ranger trail... BASS is more predominantly Triton, although this year there were a lot of Nitros in the field.

Triton was the official boat sponser for several years. Now it is Skeeter. Personal preferance and sponsership drives it. All of the major manufactures have good hulls (lifetime warranty) and are all powered by the same motors (Mercury, Yamaha, Evinrude). At least on the BASS curcuit you have a choice. Its like coke vs pepsi. They each have an equal market share, but coke has more of the resteraunt/fast food business. In stores where you can choose, pepsi has a 3-1 advantage.
