The rules are in place for a reason and we are all expected to play by them as they are written not bend them to our own meanings. Now I realize this is a contradiction of terms but When it comes down to the question of whether or not I would say something to a TD about a PFD violation. Well, that depends on the situation. If the boat was under way...yeah I would say something without question.....That is how people get hurt or killed.
If the big motor was started but Idle in neutral probably not because there alot of circumstances that could lead up to that one, Chiefly a miscommunication between the Pro and Co. i.e the co did not clearly hear the pro for whatever reason ( wind, boat traffic, hearing impairment ) when he said "we gotta go" and is trying to haul a$$ and get his gear stowed and PFD on.
In regards to the Shasta Tournament this last weekend there were 3 DQ'S
1 Running the island Saturday morning
2 A minute and a half late to weigh-in Saturday afternoon ( I had a hand in that one

) My Pro and I ran it down to the wire trying to get a bite we really needed that didn't happen.....oh well....we thought we had the time but we didn't. We broke the rule, we got penalized for it and I'm good with it.
and I didn't catch the reason for the 3rd DQ on Saturday
