How about this I was fishin at Casitas with Brian Evans last Thursday in the afternoon. We did not lauch till 3. We had a few fish ( 4 to be exact). We were on a offshore spot when a JACKASS in a Triton with no seats in it rolls up on us and dumps 8 maybe 9 fish out off his live wel. Said he was going to stock the spot so we could get bit. WERE THERE HELL IS THE RESPECT IN FISHING now days. If someone did this ten years ago there would be a fight in the parking lot.

John,

That does sounds about right doesn't it?!?!?! Geezus... my old man was fishing an offshore spot on Saturday, nailed a solid 8lber and getting more bites and the same boat blows on the spot and starts yelling at my old man to get off the spot and blows away.

That stuff don't work with me...as I know you John...nothing but courtesy to the fellow anglers!

Seriously though, isn't common sense lacking in some? I haven't even been fishing from a boat that long, and it would seem fairly simple to understand not to pull in front of someone as they are going down a bank. I also like the "sorry, were pre-fishing" as if that's an excuse to be rude. I respect the fact that many make a living via tournaments but polite is polite. I feel I have as much right to the water as any. Am I incorrect in this belief?

Not sure about the whole rule thing but this happened to me and a friend the other day.
It was a very windy and hard day on the water. Not too many boats on the water and it was getting late. We went to a place that took my buddy many years to find. It was a hidden reef that he has never seen anyone ever fish before and he has been fishing this area for more than 20yrs. Well as we were throwing out a marker buoy(do to the wind blowing so hard)the ONLY boat in the area rolled up on us and as he idled past us he looked over and even through the wind you could hear the BEEP as he marked the spot on his gps. Total chicken chit BS. And he had his little kid with him as well. I remember waving to the kid with a smile. Teaching his kid some nice lessons so young. :?

A little pee aint gonna hurt--it's not like the water isn't treated for the end users. Besides, it's all going to Westlands anyway, so why not?
Yeah I knew that would hit a nerve with quite a few, guess you were never taught not to pee in the water as a youngster. Some of these lakes are for drinking. Is it really all that hard to think ahead so ya don't pee in my drinking water, I would not do that to anyone myself.

I think its all of our water to piss in it if we want to.....Its also outr water if we want to fish wherever we want to. I think as long as you dont actually make contact with the other boater then all is good. To many my water guys.
Another thing everyone talks about pre fish well my pre fish is looking for the guy that looks like he knows what he is doing and following him to his spot and cutting in front of him. oh and dont forget to check out the rods and whats tied on before blast off.

Other than rolling right up on you, I don't see anything so wrong with someone marking or noting a potential fishing spot they've never fished.

When people pass by and see someone fishing a spot you can be sure they've made mental note of it. Sometimes it'll be a place they're already familiar with and could be saying to themselves, "that spot doesn't produce very well" or they'll remember it for future reference. Rolling right up on you may not have been courteous but people do make mental notes of spots that are being fished.

Here is an unwritten rule I try to keep.

If I know a buddy has a tournament on a body of water I will avoid it like the plague for a few days before and the day of the tournament. I figure since we fish together we know each others spots, so I would hate to hit a spot figuring he wont be on it then find out after that he went there and got skunked after we caught a bunch...

Just my rule..

I live in ventura and drink the tap water. Then i drive up to the lake and put it back:)

I'm more worried about LEAD. you should be too.

NO NO's:
pulling up and fishing in front of someone that's working their way up the bank. give them 100 yards or so.

driving in circles graphing a spot while someone is fishing close by. cruise over it. no need for a dozen circles.

tourney guys that fish too close/on top of us regular fun fisherpeople. If you get nailed with a squirt gun you know you got too close! Three guys know what i'm talkin' about:) and Bumble bee DV Bob... lucky i lent that thing to my girlfriend for a BBQ:) check the ego at the ramp son!, and your outboard for my 7 year old cousin's only custom painted pink bobber and 6lb flouro. you made her cry:(

My grandfather introduced me to fishing as a way to relax and have fun. Give people lots of room to do the same.

Just talked to the local DFG warden at work who came to patrol the north 40. He says it is illegal to urinate within 150 ft of the high watermark of any body of water according to DFG reg 5650 thru 5656. I looked it up and could find no mention of urine and mentioned that to him. He stated that though it does not specifically state urine you can be cited for it. I don't expect this to change anything but thought you may find it interesting.

I"m with Scott Robertson, I didn"t pay 60k for my boat so some clown could put his feet all over the gel coat on the gunnal, and step on the upholstery :!: :!:
