Frogs takeing on water
Whats the best way to keep your frogs from filling up with water, I know i don't want them air tight so they will flatting out on the hook set but just to slow down the intake
Re: Frogs takeing on water
a little bit of super glue will do the trick.

thanks i'll try it
Re: Frogs takeing on water
I'm not an expert, but I've heard people tossing in used plastic worms to add weight and bulk to the bait, this wont keep the water out but might limit the amount that can go in.

Mike,
i tried the glue thing, but didnt like that it could close the hole completely.
I now just carry a tube of clear cauking (silicone) onboard when frog fishing. If my frog gets too big a hole in the back or front, i just squeeze in a dab of silicone. It seals the hole, but is flexible, so when a toad grabs it and chomps down, the silicone will give and allow the air out.
Give it a try. you'll be carrying a tube around too.

Start buying Ish's new Phat Frog. Made to be sink proof, I love mine and have already caught fish on it this year.....without ever squeazing out water.

Seal the hole the hooks come out of with clear silicone, and put a small slit on the top of the head between the eyes to release the air.

Reaction Innovations SwampDonky rocks. Great action, durable, and can be walked like a spook. Takes in the least water of any frog i've fished. The little that it does I write off to frog fishing in general. Good luck!
IF IT DOESNT FEEL NORMAL, IT PROBABLY ISN'T!

Newly manufactured Bobby's Perfect have an internal lead weight attached to the hook. Expose the hook and snip away some of the lead weight to lighten the frog. This was discussed last year.
