Lost ingition key - 1994 Ranger/Mercury XRi
Lost ingition key - 1994 Ranger/Mercury XRi
I got home from fishing (after a stop at the taquaria) and I had no ignition key. I don't have a second key. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Should be a Mercury part. The problem comes in when you need to know what key it is. They have a letter and number on them like 1B etc.. Usually a bigger Mercury dealer will have a selection of them and can find the one that starts your motor. It may say on your ignition box but not sure if it does.
Contact a Mercury service dealer and I am sure they can get you taken care of. Don't waste your money or time on a locksmith.
Once you figure out what key you need it is only about a $5 part.

Look up under you driver console. Its is com on practice to have a spare set zip tied up under it on the wires. I don't know if Ranger does this at the factory, but I think every Ranger I have owned had them there. Its worth a try........
