Need a good cordless drill under $100

I had a cheap 12-volt Black & Decker for several years, but it was always underpowered and it's toast now anyway. Any suggestions?

Dewalt makes a real nice unit but might be a little more $ so I would say get a Robi (sp?)

Its a little more than your $100 but I have made my living with my tools for over 15 years. Buy the Dewalt 18V cordless. You can find them on sale from time to time at the Depot or Lowes.

I have owned countless cordless drills and this is the best.

Ridgid at Home Depot. Has a lifetime warranty, even on the batteries.

Being a Plumbing contractor for 18 years we have been through several cordless drills to say the least. IMHO the Dewalt 18v cordless has been by far the best for heavy use. However for around the house and light jobs that thing is a bit over powering and heavy. If you need this drill for around the house or light jobs I would consider a 14v or even a 9.5 volt cordless depending on the use. Jim

I'm a General and have been in custom homes contruction for 14 years. For the price, in the this day and age, you can't go wrong with RIGID. Dewalt is good but over rated. If you want to put a bit more into your budget, you ought to get a MAKITA with LIO bateries. light weight and durable. But for $100, get a rigid. Just my .02. good luck.

That is not a exaggeration at all. I purchased a cordless right angle drill from them. The very first time I used it the cheap plastic head cracked. I took at back and they gave me another. That one lasted 4 screws and then it cracked in the same place. They are garbage tools that are made cheaply over seas. Hold a Harbor Freight drill then hold a Ridgid, Dewalt, Makita... or any other from a brand name manufacturer, even a Ryobi which is made by the same company that makes Ridgid. The weight difference alone shows how much better they are made. If you want to buy 4 drills to complete one job then have at it

I have a roibi 18v and does fine in terms of most household stuff, but doesnt have the conjes for Heavy Drilling. It was under 100.00

The new ion Milwaukee Drills are awesome! I have one with one battery and charger two weeks old for 125.00 if you want it. I bought a kit to get the impact and I already have two Milwaukee drills.

Ive been a stair railing installer and am also a GC for the last 15 years and have drilled more holes than everyone in here put together. The Dewalt 18V is the best. The Dewalt 18v impact is also nice tightening rail bolts. The average stair rail takes over 150 holes per stair and I do 4-5 a week. Some jobs over 400 holes.

Milwalkee all the way. We go through dewalts like water. on our jobs. the milwalkee seems to last longer,especially the batteries most of the dewalt batteries become junk quick, not as many charges as the the milwalkee

Ryobi makes a good product and its much less than the others. Unless your building houses, this drill should be fine. Had mine for almost 10 years and no problems. (under $100)
