Berkley AC WRL Delta Wine Breaks It Own Record Again

Post by Randy Pringle »

Sorry to all you anglers, I thought I put this post up. With my schedule, I missed it but here it is!

THE BLAIR AND SHIFFER TEAM WINS BERKLEY AC/ WRL DELTA/ WINE DIVISION ON THE DELTA

With a warming trend and the sun shining bright on the anglers for this event, the morning started off brisk and gradually warmed up to the low 70’s for the weigh-in. With the nicer weather, this event brought a record number of anglers who fished the Berkley AC/ WRL tournament with 123 boats! Boat number 9B was drawn and was the first in line to follow the small boats out to begin their day of fishing.

As the anglers started coming to the scales with their bags, it looked to be a tough day for the teams who had the earlier weigh in times. As the later flights came in with the weights increased it showed that the later flights had the advantage because the water started to warm up with turned the larger fish on.

Robert Blair from Elk Grove and Troy Shiffer from Stockton had their best day ever on the Delta. They came to the scales with the winning weight of the tournament with 25.22 lbs anchored by the 5th place Big Fish of the day that weighed 8.57 lbs. Robert said that bass was their first fish of the day! For First Place, this team took home a nice payday of $1890. The told the crowd they caught their bass flipping and pitching weightless worms in watermelon red flake. They fished Potato, White and Disappointment Sloughs but were not the slightest bit ‘disappointedâ€
