Boat is finally finished!

Post by Mike »

I have been remodeling my boat for the last couple of weeks. I re did the carpet, changed locker latches, gas shocks, Line-x'ed the interior, rebuilding the lower unit and getting the seat re-upholstered. Well the seat is still out but the rest will be done tomorrow. Just in time to sit for a couple of months since I go back in for more shoulder surgery on Thursday. Here is a few pic'c. I wish I would have taken a couple before pic's, but here is how it turned out.

I was getting a little nervous about this time........

Line-x'ed yesterday and finished the carpet today.......

I'm happy with the results. I have about 20 hours and $600 into it. Cheeper than buying a new boat.

Mike Looks great. I do have a couple questions. I like the look of the Line X but was curious why you only did the bottom. Do you think that it would be to hot or loud to do the decks? Just curious. It seems like it would be soooo easy to clean compared to carpet. Also, did you have the line x done or use the roll on stuff? It does look great and your right, MUCH cheaper than a new boat. Good Job.

I didnt do the decks because of mainly fatigue. Standing on it for 8-10 hours a day would be hard on the feet along with it being hotter than hell in the summer. I had it sprayed by a local Lixe-x shop. Its the shinny stuff. Just hose out when it get dirty and it looks like new. I cant take credit for thinking of it though..... Lunker Punker is doing his too and gave me the idea.

Wow Mike, that looks fantastic. For those that like the Line X, we use a closed cell EVA foam material called Sea Dek here in Florida and it is gaining popularity in bass boats here. Take a look:

The Line X on the bottom going up to the top side is a really good call, as that is where all of my carpet damage is at this time. Looks good Mike, hope you can enjoy it after your shoulder recovers.

Awesome Work BrothA Mike !

If you get bored sitting around the house while you are recovering - let me know if you want a side job of recarpeting mine. :D .... I have the carpet kit already - and am thinking of wet-sanding it at the same time to bring the gelcoat back.

Again I hope for a very speedy recovery again from your surgery Bro.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Very impressive. Your boat looks close in model year to mine. I plan to do mine this fall/winter. I might have some questions if thats ok
