Good News - Bad News...

Post by Ron C »

The Bad News is that the battery in your Cul-M-Rite XL must be replaced by the factory, which means that you will have to ship it to them.

The Good News is that the turn around time is very fast and they will upgrade it with any changes that they have made since you purchased it. This means that you will have (in essence) a brand new Cul-M-Rite XL when you get it back.

To get the shipping address, contact Rick Stanfield by e-mail at: aft@qwest.net or by phone at (623) 486-6663.

Here is the Cul-M-Rite website: http://www.culmrite.com

Hey Tuck, That must be a difficult problem to have huh? weighing in so many big fish that you wear out the batteries. Mine are like new. Those little spotted bass don't draw too much electricity. Hey some time if you want to go stick some bass call me. I would like to fish with you some time either my boat or yours.

Do it yourself

Post by fishinfool145 »

Mike, if you can use a soldering iron, you can do it yourself. The battery is simply a regular 9v household battery. The power wires are soldered to the top of the battery.

When you pull the unit apart, you will see that the electronics are seeled against moisture, but battery is simply wrapped in heat shrink, but it isn't water tight. Just solder the leads on to the new battery and forget the heat shrink. The unit will still be water proof, short of dropping it in the lake.

It takes about 15 minutes.
