Westchester County just outside the city has a ton of water. I've heard the big reservoirs have decent bass action but when I lived in Manhattan I usually fished the smaller lakes and ponds -- those fish had never seen a Senko or frog EVER. Trouble is the season is so short compared to out here.

Anglers Choice has a team tournament trail in the New York region.

Log on to our website at www.usanglerschoice.net or contact the Region 4 USAC director Dave Kilby at limitfinder@yahoo.com and he can get you dialed in on competitive fishing in that area.

Sorry to here about the move to the city. I lived in upstate new york (Elmira), from 1975 to 1983. Black lake is nice, and finger lakes have nice smallies. St. Lawrence seaway is nice.
The big problem is the weather. I got to where I liked the winter better than the summer. I knew what I was dealing with and loved to hunt. Summer plans are always in jeopardy of getting rained/thunderstormed out. Good luck and make the best of it. Sorry, don't know anything about down state. I was 15 when my dad said we were moving to NY. I asked "the city" and he said no. If he'd of said yes, I was running away. :P
