I'm surprise that Stickbait didn't bring the above up. There is no correlation between the two. The boats from each flight must "Check-in within the 5 mph zone in the designate marina by flight." The weigh-in is not flight specific and the cut-off time is determined by the WEIGH MASTER or TD. Weigh-in can take many minutes or a few minutes. This depends on the gab, # of fish to weigh-in, number of anglers weighing in, etc... Therefore, no specific time allocation can be pre determine for each flight.
In the past (15+ years ago), the tourney organizations (Redman, West Coast Bass, WON Bass, 100% Bass, New Bass, etc..) would announce that the scales were closing at a specific time and the TD or other person would run to the docks to announce that the scales were closing and if you have not weighed in, then get you #SS up there.
There was also a boat number verification to insure that no boat was left out on the water, in case of a breakdown.
What has happen ? Are the newbies whinners. Will they drive out a tourney organization ? Like, what happen with WCB back in 2000. WCB "Pro Ams" drew 80+ boats at some of their tourneys and over 100+ at other tourneys. Then the WHINNERS started in and the organization got tired of it and shut it down. Now, they are back, but they have to rebuild. Will the same happen to other tourney organizers ?

Re: Tourny Flight Check-in vs. Weigh-in time
I agree, and can relate to some of what you are saying. For example; Last year my tourny partner and I were fishing a tri-state fish-off(won't name organization) at lake Mead and the weather was horrible. After a bad series of events our big motor went out in the middle of a run and we got swamped and stranded. There were several other boats in the event that were in a similar situation and no one from the organization did anything about the missing boats. I understand that in many events there are always teams that just trailer and leave early for various reasons, so it can be hard to keep track of participants. However, I believe there should be a mandatory check-in for every team before they leave. That way they could keep track of boats and send help when someone needs it.

I think that once you check in they should give you A number as to when you came in ( A big hastle I know) But some of the guys that are in the first flight and have A good bag will sit at the docks waittttttttttttting and wattttttttttttting realy don't get the reason why????? Their fish aren't going to get any biggerSmileee wrote:I'm surprise that Stickbait didn't bring the above up. There is no correlation between the two.
