Motor Guide parts

Post by KDA »

I need to find a replacement activator switch for a 2005 47# motor guide trolling motor. The switch is located on the underside of the foot control. When I push down on the top of the foot control there is too little contact with the activator switch, thus sometimes the motor does not turn on. I inspected the switch, a small rubber cap that fits over a steel post (switch) has worn out. I have tried adding tape to create the needed pressure but that is a short lived fix.

thanks for the help

Try putting a small dab of silicone on top of the switch, and using a piece of a baggie to cover it, so it doesn't stick to anything else. Then push down on it with the pedal, checking to see how it spreads, until it's the thickness you need. It will last forever, if you let it cure for a few days after you do it.

Try C&C Marine in Modesto. Last time I needed a replacement part for my Motorguide, they had it in stock.
Don't ask about my username, all I need to say is check yours and check them often.
