Re: FLW DELTA
I spoke to FLW this morning to find out that I didn't make it in on the co-angler side.Registration ended yesterday. She said the number was around 115.I really thought they would fill this tournament.I signed up on Dec.17th.It's really hard to get in if you don't sign up together with a pro.
Re: FLW DELTA
sorry to hear that, i hope the stren comes back next year we my not have this problem.

Re: FLW DELTA
I fished it last year on the co-angler side a placed second. They said I would have early sign up privileges. I signed up early and was in the low 30's on the list, so I'm thinking "no problem, I'm in this year" WRONG!!! The tournament director tells me yesterday that I ended up 8th on the list because he had 120 guys commit to all four tournaments this year! SO they get to jump in front of me. Do I get a call? NO. So unless eight guys drop out between now and Tuesday............ no fishy fishy for me
Lesson learned !
I wont be fishing FLW again

Re: FLW DELTA
They told me just now that they would not even accept money from a pro if they signed up before the meeting. This is crap they are loosing alot of co anglers that have supported them and with the extra money there would be a better pay out.
Re: FLW DELTA
So it is fair to let people wait until the day before the tournament after they have had practice to decide if they fish or not. Some and I mean alot of pros complained about this last year and the year before on a couple of venues. People would wait to committ based on wether they caught them in practice or not and co anglers would be left waiting to see if they were in after having traveled to the event.
As far as priority, according to the rules, those that sign up for all four will receive priority over those fishing a single event. Makes sense because some of them have invested two entry fees and two weeks worth of travel money and expenses already this season.
Even if we had a full field people would be pissed off because they didnt get in. When The Series first came west, the delta event was oversubscribed on 200 boat fields and people didnt get in.
I sympathize with anyone that wanted to fish this tournament and didnt get in, dont get me wrong just looking at things from a little different perspective. One thing that really stinks, guys that fish Co angler and are in the points race having a hard time getting in because we dont have enough pro's entering.

Re: FLW DELTA
The last conversation I had with FLW, they said you could sign up as a pro prior to check-in, however all the off the water / official practice is still in check. They did say my co-angler can't sign up with me. I wasn't going to fish the tournament at all but my buddy is dying to and I guess is on their waiting list and offered to pay my way, so I figured I'll go for it. But as I said FLW said we can't do that because the other Co's next on the list would need to be paired according to order, I think that's fair.

Re: FLW DELTA
I spoke to Chris Hoover on Wednesday morning and he told me just the opposite,The entry deadline was Tuesday,June the 1st.and they would not allow anyone to enter the tournament after then. They were not going to allow guys to do what had happened in the past as Smitty mentioned. If the pre fish is good then they figure they will enter,if not then they won't.
Re: FLW DELTA
To me it's sad we can't get more numbers this year. I feel for the Co's especially the ones doing well after the first 2 events. We had 99 at Mead and if we're around 120 that would mean only about 20 locals signed up just for this event. I hope they come back next year with a good schedule and the economy gets better so we can have higher #'s. I really thought we would get as many as we had at Shasta, but so much for thinking.
Re: FLW DELTA
Maybe if you got 2nd last year as a co you should step up to the front of the boat and see what youll get in the front.

Re: FLW DELTA
The FLW is out for itself not the fishermen. I fished it last year so I can say that. I can also say that if there were another fishing org. that had the same concept, it would take alot of business from the FLW and prob. would draw a full field. Oh yeah, lets have the championship on a lake and in a state where one angler has no advantage over another like last year at Pickwick
. I didn't have to travel from Cali thank goodness but I did travel 10 hrs.

that voted for our so called leader
Re: FLW DELTA
I'm with Timber Effects and fishn4bass, I also signed up on Dec. 17th for this event. I've was sent a generic email to show up for the prereg meeting, and haven't been on the water fishing because of the off limit rules. Am I showing up to possibly get in or am I getting my monies back, don't know yet.
We all pay our monies to fish the event but if you entered on the first day you were able 6 months ago you also had to plan vacation and make travel arraigments.
Just the breaks I guess........

Re: FLW DELTA
If you didn't get a phone call by Wednesday the 2nd.You did not get in.I was told that they will issue the refunds to those of us they didn't make it in next week.I was 17th.still after waiting for 6 months,I also had taken the time off work, and had hotel reservations.Maybe next year.
Re: FLW DELTA
Wow i was also told i was 17th haha now that is interesting.. flw already issued my full entry fee back to my credit card on wednesday.
Its part of the game the way i see it, if i was really serious about it guess i should have signed up as a pro... part of fishing as a co-angler. with the economy the way it is and people losing jobs and houses I am surprised that there is so much interest in whether or not some of us are able to fish or not... perhaps i should be grateful I was able to attempt to fish this event, instead of wishing that one day I might be able to afford to?
Just another way of trying to be positive about the situation.
one more thing.... i think it will take 21-23 # a day to win this one..
