FLW Qualifying for what ???
FLW Qualifying for what ???
I was just wondering what you qualify for if you get in the top 40 in the FLW Series , a friend just told me the only qualification is for the top 10 and you get to go the FLW cup is that it ,no east -west fish off or was that only for the Stren ???? If that is the case why should you keep on fishing especially on Lakes that you don't do no good on
Re: FLW Qualifying for what ???
You keep on fishing because you made a committment to yourself that you were going to fish the entire circuit.
You keep on fishing because you will never get better on the lakes you dont do well on if you dont keep fishing them.
You keep on fishing because if you dont, the draws will be even worse and next year you may not get a shot at fishing the lakes or rivers you do well on for serious dollars in either the 2k Series or the $825 Stren level.
And you keep on fishing because as Cooch once said, fishing isnt something I do it is part of who I am . Tournament fishing applies as well.

Piru used to be one of those lakes where I couldn't crack the 10lb mark...so I kept going up there. My last two tournaments there I've weighed a teen limit in each, and cashed in one of them. I look for a reason to go fishing, not for a reason to stay home.

Great post Smitty.
Re: FLW Qualifying for what ???
Get a life !! my actual question was do we get to go to a fish off or not for the top 40 !!! You guys must have more money than sense, I am already in the Delta FLW but probably wouldn't have if I knew that I wasn't going to be in any type of fish off, I never said I planned on fishing all 4 and I didn't put my deposit down. But $2000.00 to take a chance at winning I can do the same thing on local tournaments and it cost a heck of a lot less .. I fish because I enjoy it and I want to , I can enjoy it just as much for $350. 00 as I can for $2000.00
Re: FLW Qualifying for what ???
You asked why we fish on lakes that are tough for us and what we are trying to qualify for. Get over the local everyone qualifies for the TOC. Top ten gets a chance at serious cash. You asked why we do it, I told you why.

I shouldnt even respond again but I will. I never attacked anyone, just answered a question. If you would read the rules you would know. As far as get a life....well mine is pretty awesome, I fish 200 days a year, have a great wife, and am as happy as can be.

Smitty,
You hit the nail on the head buddy. I almost wrote the same thing but I deleted because I have come to realize that many of these negative post are coming from people that will never get it.
Me responding to it won’t make it any better good buddy. Those of us that really do this get it that's why we fish all the derbies.
You wouldn't guess how many times I hit the delete button on these types of posts.

Re: FLW Qualifying for what ???
I am not sure if Cooch fishes touraments NOW or not. What I do now is the I have nothing but RESPECT for COOCH becuase at one time or another he put his skills on tour and fished against the best in the West on the BASS Open tour.
I am a student of the game and I followed his success and enjoyed reading his write-ups after each tournament. I have nothing but respect for anyone who leave out of their comfort zone and puts their anglering skills and dollars on the line.

Yeah, I dusted him off out of retirement to fish against you and Bobby!!!Mike wrote:Cooch fishes tournaments??

Unfortunately, last year he had one hand tied behind his back, but this year it isn't quite so bad (you'll have to ask him to what degree!
