warranty *update*

Post by meach »

Had to submit a claim recentley, and dont know if it is a timing issue or what but im stuck waiting for my claim due to the manufactuer being out of stock, i was offered a lesser model and a $50 voucher towards the purchase of a new rod, but seeing as i spent $220 and going to be paying $80 for the replacement it didnt make sense to be $300 in and get a rod back that retails for half that, with lesser components.(sp) The customer service was great and did get back to me asap, but no estimated arrival date on when i can expect my replacement, i was told it may be a couple months :( , not bashing the company (Kistler) just venting, just feeling a little slighted that to get what i want im stuck waiting...just not sure what to do, continue waiting or take the lesser model, i have other rods, but this was my favorite by far...also a couple months here in WI and we could have snow..lol

I feel your pain, but sometimes you just get stuck with an unlucky situation. That kind of stuff happens all the time in my biz :(

Guess the old saying "timing is everything" really applies here.

They should offer you a "Step Up" model to make you whole.

If it is your favorite .. I would wait..

Things like this do happen. I know they shouldn't but somethings you just got to sit back and say oh well...

Taking a lesser grade/style and you will never be happy !!

I have had that happen to me G.Loomis a GLX BCFR894 Flippin Rod I waited THREE MONTHS to get it replaced. With this rod there is no upgrade it's top of line @ $470.00. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. Luckily, I have an extra one. It seemed like every time I called to check the return status I was told two weeks. This went on for three months. But hey; full replacement with shipping and handeling only cost me $50.00 to repalce a $470.00 rod.

DON"T SETTLE FOR SECOND BEST. I would wait, never except less, always ask for more!

Just figure that most rod companies cost on there rods are under 20 bucks. Except those made here in the U.S. where labor has a minimum. So when you send the rod back for warranty they are selling you a new rod at a discounted price.

Update:
After almost 2 months (6weeks) of waiting to hear if my LTA was going to be replaced, i was told that they would not be ordering anymore for this year and was offered the MicroMag rod as a replacement, paid $80 for the replacement, the customer service was great they answered all my questions but this experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth, i was NOT able to recieve an upgraded year model of my LTA as the "smart warranty" claims and even if it wasnt discountinued, the one that broke had SIC guides vs the Alconite that they used on this years,so dont get how thats an upgrade..all in all i paid $300 (first lta + replacement) for a rod that is not comparable to the rod i had to warranty, this was my first "high end" gear i purchased and chose to go with Kistler based on how much ive read about how there customer service handles there customers and how great the product was, yes they were prompt with there responses (expect for waiting for 4 weeks for them to find out if they were going to have any LTA 's in) and yes i did enjoy the rod i had before it broke, but after this experience i really dont think i will do business with them again, do i like the micromag, its okay and just okay, my 6"9 ML vendetta feel the same...im really kicking my self for not buying the cumara at the time, coulda walked into BPS and swapped it out for a new one and only paid for my gas..i really wish they had something worded in there warranty on how they would service you if a line was discountinued, this was not a "WIN-WIN" situation as the warrantly claims. Nature of the beast i guess
***Not an attempt to bash the company just sharing my experience***
