Oroville Turkey Shoots?

Post by coyoteslayer »

Does anyone have any info if they are doing any of the parking lot turkey shoots out at Oroville this year? I know last year there was some in the afternoons and Saturdays. Any info would be great, thanks in advance.

So I take it your coming from Elk Grove. Take 5 out of Sac up to the 99-70 split and stay on 70 thru Marysville and up to Oroville. Continue thru Oroville on 70 about 10 miles to Pentz Road on your left. Take a left there and a couple miles up the road you will see the signs on your right. You can't miss it. Its a long haul for you for a couple hundred bucks should you win but you could figure on staying over and fishing some the next day. The water is as high as its been in years. There is another tournament out of the dam on Saturday morning for more money (120.00) which you could consider as well. See you

Thanks for the info guys. I'm fishing the tournament Saturday should be a fun one. I went to Oroville the other day and wore them out. The water is high, but the bite is strong. Should be some good weights if the bite stays on and it will. I live in Yuba City and will be fishing the turkey shoots. I caught word that its a pretty long idle out of Lime Saddle. I wonder whey they aren't doing it out of the spill way?

Actually I think they run turkey shoots out of the dam on Tuesday nites. Contact Oroville Outdoors to be sure on that. As for Lime Saddle, the guy that runs them on Thursday lives in Magalia above Paradise and its a lot closer for him. It is a long idle out of the 5's (15 minutes give or take) but you can idle out and wait for the start and then go. It you go out the other way towards Nelson Bar it takes far less time but your pretty much committed to fishing in there for the evening.
