THE AMERICAN BASS CIRCUIT HAS A HUSBAND AND WIFE CATAGORY IN THERE TEAM TOURMENTS. YOU FISH AGAINST OTHER TEAMS BUT ALSO HAVE AWARDS FOR THE TOP HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM IN EACH TOURMENT I BELIVE. YOU CAN GO TO THE ABA WEB SITE AND IT SHOULD EXPLAIN HOW IT WORKS. GENE

Re: tourny circuit for wife
Although I don't fish up in your region that often, I will offer some input since 90% of my tournament fishing is done with my wife as my partner. Choose a circuit that you feel you can be competitive in. It is awesome when you "catch a check" together. I don't know how much experience your wife has fishing overall, but try your best to keep the fishing fun and the tournaments fun for her. My wife claims she has more fun fun fishing than tournament fishing because of the pressure of the tournament. The biggest suggestion I can make regarding the circuit is choose a circuit where you have friends or folks you know. Bass tournament fishing is at least half about the friends and extended family that you get fishing with folks. (your wife will be more popular than you btw
)
There are some GREAT hasband/wife teams down here in the south that can compete with any team, anytime anywhere. (Morrows and McBrides spring to mind first) Good luck and have fun.
BTW my wife says I backseat her all the time.... and fish too fast. Of course she has cashed twice the big fish checks I have so maybe she is on to something. Ohhhh and if you let her keep "her" first big fish check etc never plan on spending any of the checks she gets in the future.

Future Pro Tour strives to promote a family environment, and we started a division in your area this year.
A lot of fun, many husband wife teams and the $80 entry fee isn't bad either. Big raffles at each tournament, and we work to put on a show that rivals most major Pro Ams
Our Central Division Schedule is as follows:
March 25 Don Pedro
April 8 McClure
May 6 Pine Flat
June 3 Millerton
August 6 Delta
September 23 New Melones
October 21 Delta

Re: tourny circuit for wife
Check out your local clubs that fish as teams. That is what my wife and I do. We have a great time together, with out all of the pressure of a larger curcuit.
Good Luck and have fun, Tom

I would echo Dan O commets and recommend Future Pro Central Valley Circuit. My son and I have been fishing the The Northern circuit since its beginning. We are going to fish both this year We have learned a lot because of all the featured Pro Speakers the night before the Tournament. Every body is friendly and there is several husband and wife teams. You can learn alot very friendly great atmosphere lots of extra prizes. 2 of the Lakes Pine Flat and Millerton are in your area. You can't go wrong.
Re: tourny circuit for wife
Wow, Thank you for the compliment Noluk. I started fishing because I didn't like staying home all the time. We have met so many new friends and have been lucky to cash a few checks. There are a lot of couples fishing in ALL the circuits and I think they do well, because they work well together. Murph is pretty easy going and that is important when you take your wife in the boat. Just remember, SHE's the boss, and you will be allright. JK

It might be lonely at the Top, but it's a bitch, at the Bottom !

Future Pro Tour would be my suggestion. I fish the circuit with my wife and we have a great time.
