Any good places in the city that can replace some guides and can clean reels? Thanks.

Don't take it to Hi's tackle I know that! Took them 2 months to fix my reel and when it was done they didn't even call me! I went down just to pick up it cause I was tired of waiting for it.

What? The fact that in the 3 year existance of ReelEx yours is the only invoice never made good. That fact, or the fact that back in March of this year I was in Hi's tackle and was asked to look at a "problem reel". I did and showed them the problem. They asked if I could take care of this for them, as the customer needed. I looked at the work order and recognized the name and declined to do so. I thought about it a second time and decided to not allow personal feelings to dictate the way I do business, regardless. So I took the reel, performed the fix, and returned it to Hi's the next day. Furthermore, I was standing right there when the clerk called you that day and left a message informing you the reel was ready for pick up.

Then in late May I was again in Hi's, and was asked if I remembered that problem Curado. Sure I replied. Well they said, that guy just came in a week or so ago and was all ticked off deman
ding his reel. Apparently, you never called to check on your reel, just like you never informed me you had any problem with my work a year prior?

Normally, I wouldn't waste my time, and I APOLOGIZE TO EVERYONE WHO HAS TO SEE, and read this but I'm sick of people coming in here and trashing people, and business owners undeservidly. In this instance I knew the facts and was asked to disclose them.

You said not to pay untill we get the reel fixed but that never happend. I would be happy to pay you for the work you did do, send me a bill or a PM. I sent it to Texas to get fixed.

Clerk called me? I called them again just wanting to pick up my reel and send it somewhere else.

All you had to do is call me and we could have gotten this fixed.

No, after an invoice, a courtesy letter, and no response, a year later you contacted me to inform me you had more reels which needed service, and I declined due to the non-payment of the prior invoice.

Quote " I know I still owe you $50 but this one reel still doesn't seem right, and I have some others that need servicing. I referred you to Shimano. Should I post that email from you as well? Obviously you knew without me calling, and when you emailed me I told you to forget about the invoice. I wasn't interested! Still not.

None of us service or tackle people are perfect, but those who have done business with me know how I operate, and yes, I have had to re-service a couple reels each year. Reel service is not an exact science as none of us can test under use each reel, but I always make sure I do my best to make it more than right for the customer, and do.

I went out of my way for you as well, driving to pick your reels. Not once, but twice. Turned em around in a day so you had for the weekend and you never extend the courtesy of a response to the invoice or the courtesy letter. Oh, but it's my fault for not calling?

I could careless about payment at this point. My point is, somehow it seems it's always someone else's fault, and IMHO you had no right to come in here and slam a well respected shop like Hi's or anyone else for that matter without first talking with the owner. But no, people just come in here and slander people on a public forum and the truth can seldom be seen through the smoke.

No thank you!

A courtesy notice I never received and you said yourself not to worry about the bill so I won’t.

Like I said, I found a company in Texas that tests their repairs in shop to avoid things like this.

Look, I merely stated FACTS as requested. They don't sit well, I understand that, but I think anyone reading this thread will see a particular pattern of behavior here.

I'll stand on the reputation I've built in this business, and the way I conduct that business. One thing that will never change is I guarantee my work 110%, no questions asked. I will always bend over backwards for, and appreciate each and everyone of my customers. You never afforded me that opportunity, so I'm not sure how that's on me, but whatever......Having been in retail 30+ years, and now this for the past 15, I fully realize there is always "one". I wish you all the best in Tx or wherever you eventually end up doing business, them too!

 Dan, You are so correct,"There is always one". Let me just say that if you conduct your business with or through Hi's in any way I as well as most of the fishing population will agree with you, for one main reason Johna will only do business with PROS. PERIOD. Keep up the great work, and as soon as my 17 reels need tune-ups we will meet. BUDDHA

senkoskipper - I have used both ReelEx and Larrys Reel Repair. Both are fast and do great work, I would recommend either of them. I personally like BS'ing with Larry so I tend to send my equipment to him. You can check out his site at www.larrysreelrepair.com
Don't ask about my username, all I need to say is check yours and check them often.

Budda,

Being a trained Shimano Specialist I try to make myself avaialble to all the Shimano retailers in the area. We are very fortunate here, in that we have a number of awesome outlets around the bay to do business with, and I'm proud to have relationships with all of them, including Jonah.

Thanks for the kind words.
