Senko color for Clear Lake

Post by SNEAKS123 »

Im going to Clear Lake soon for a week of fishing. I go every year around mid September and ususally use crankbaits, jigs and shakeyheads but have heard that the Senkos seem to be working this year. What are some of the Senko colors that are popular with Clear Lake?

In my limited time on Clear Lake, the color 330 was always my favorite. If I ever make it back up there, I would be sure to throw the Monster Shad color, it's an exclusive color, but if you look around a little, you can find it.

Yup if I only had one color senko this would be it, the Rootbeer color works well up there too - but all season long the Greenpumpkin purple flake takes the fish down.

Red in the spring, peanut butter and jelly, green pumkin will all get you fish. T-rigged for shallow tules, wacky for deeper. In the PB&J get some Northland slurpies online.

Cinnamon with Purple and Black Flake (#221) and Watermelon with Red and Black Flake (can't remember the #) have both been very good to me, the last several years :D .

I wouldnt stock up til you get there. Ive never found a good senko bite in sept on CL. They'll eat it, but there are better options. Id wait and see what the bite does, then support the local shops.

Last year at Clear Lake I went through $80 bucks worth of senkos in 3 days in the middle of June. Bring every old plastic you've ever bought and dump them in Clear Lake...They never get enough.
