hypocrites and crooks

Post by barse41 »

Did anyone read the article in the opinions section of the modesto bee today? "It's time to go fishing for the predator, striped bass." by Steve Knell and Jeff Shields. Oakdale and San Joaquin Irrigation district managers. talk about hypocrisy. these guys say ignore the biological opinion on the delta because all the DFG wants is money. ignore it so we can sell it to farmers and socal instead.

these guys know the stripers have nothing to do with the declining salmon, smelt, and steelhead populations. they are just trying to line their pockets. CROOKS!

Well, ther right about one thing. Fish and Game does very little for the money you pay into licenses and tags. To them its all about the money. A perfect example was last year at FT.Bragg They were at the ramp citing guys for having Silver Salmon which are illegal but hard to distinguish to a lot of new fishermen. They had the head of a silver and a king to show the difference when they cited the guys. I asked them why didn't they come down in the morning when guys were going out and show them the difference instead of waiting for them to come in. They said it was a manpower issue. I said sure, manpower to cite but not to prevent. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of dedicated employes, but they should fire all the upper eschelon and start all over again.

That or the anglers could have looked at the full color pictures on the second page of the Reg. booklet before they went out.

but then they would have to take responsibility for their actions. and we all know nobody is going to do that.

in the article , they say the dfg sells 300,000 lisences to people who will fish for striper at $41.50 ea. thats $12,450,000 a year. thats nothing compared to what these water districts would make if they had the right to sell more water.
