Clearlake tournament lodging
Clearlake tournament lodging
Have a house in Clear Lake and thinking about turning it into a rental property focused on tournament fisherman. It's not on the water but we can provide launch and a gaurded slip for boat storage @ a marina. Just curious about what you guys do when you travel for tournaments and where you prefer to stay. The house will accomodate up to 6 guests and you can park 3 boat/trailer combos on the property. The interior of the house has been completely redecorated in the last year, tv's, satellite, internet, laundry, etc. Thinking $100 - $150 a night and I would love to hear some of you're thoughts.
Thanks,

For 100 - 150 with a guarded slip I would do it, depending on where the house is located on teh water.
I have stayed at Knocti when on the North side and The Lakepoint Lodge on the south side. Never had an issue in either one.

One place that is completely re-done and updated is "The Lake Place". They are just down the road from Limit Out Tackle. They are on a dead end, quiet road and very nice people. They do have a launch ramp there also. It is a little small but very usable ramp. This is one of the best locations for clubs. They have a nice lawn and good parking also.

Konocti Vista Casino...ALL THE WAY...!!! Why not...? Clean rooms at a great price, a casino in the back that pays out royally, boat slips with individual electronic hookups at each slip...
Unless you screwed up and and didn't plan ahead...

I don't get to Clearlake much for overnite stays but when I do, I've stayed at the Skylark in Lakeport. Has a boat ramp, room for the boat in front of the room, close to gas and food or the park if you want to launch there. If it has a bed and a shower thats good enough for me. Don't spend much time in the room as it is. I have 3 nites booked there in October for $78.00 a nite. Years ago all the WON bass pro-ams went out of there, that is, until the casinos came in.

If you and a partner can work it out, have one tow the boat and one take an RV and stay at the rv park at the casino, $20 a night with Good Sam's discount and if you stay 3 nights the 4th is free. Electric, water and cable tv hook ups best deal on the lake. Works out great if the tournament is going out of KVC.

Re: Clearlake tournament lodging
Taking an RV up there must be really expensive with gas expenses, plus the twenty bucks a night. And somebody else has to haul the boat up...? Why not tow the boat up on the RV...?
Unless the guy with the RV lives there, why follow each other...?
Tow the boat with the truck and stay in the hotel...
...unless I've got the wrong idea... ( not knocking )

Because I have a 27' trailer and my partner has the boat and I cannot haul tandem. Still is a good deal for 60 bucks you can stay for 4 nights and can save money on cooking your own food and do not need to buy food, unless you count a milkshake from Renee's as buying food.Buzzbommer wrote:Taking an RV up there must be really expensive with gas expenses, plus the twenty bucks a night. The Kelseyville Motel is is one of the best places to stay, the owner appreciates bass fisherman, and has good rates. While not on the water it's only 10 min. from the county park launch. Konocti Vista is hard to beat with free slips. Skylark is a good place as well. The Sea Breeze @Glenhaven is real nice and has good docks, Lakeplace (Oaks) good choice too, stop by and see Bob @Limit Out, depends what area you want start from, the town of Clearlake is shady but Red Bud is a good launch, check out Jimmy Gs. store at Red Bud , Clear Lake Bait and Tackle the inventory there is incredible.
the best way to catch a big one is don't lose um sharp hooks set drag retie!

majorsyph,
A place that can take 3 rigs and sleep up to 6...and with new stuff in the last year...sounds like a good deal if you get a couple people to go in on it. It really may come down to where it's located versus where the event is going out of...but I think you could make it work.
It's worth a try anyway...
Good Luck ~
