Now with Mike Hart out of contention I was pondering whether or not we will see another person or team dominate on this body of water in the near future. I think it has opened the door for many local anglers to place in the money and that we will see a spread of wealth amongst many different anglers.
I am curious as to what the rest of you think.
I know that trying to figure out the tourney quality bites as well as the BIG swimbait bites is a difficult task to accomplish at the same time in order to "knock out" the competition. I myself have definitely struggled with trying to put together a good tourney bag and figure out a BIG double digit bass bite at the same time. Sure it is much easier to fish for double digit bass on a day when you are not trying to put 5 fish in the boat and are fishing for one BIG bite.
In my opinion, the best sticks that I can think of that put both trophy fish and tourney wins on their resume at the same time are Bill Siemental and Byron Velvick. Again, I would love to hear your opinions on both the Castaic subject and the versatile trophy bass/tourney angler subject.
Please submit your opinions.
Thanks,
Tyler

Re: Castaic question
Depending on both the economy and which trail is there, I think/hope that a lot of the really good teams who have competed at Castaic in the past will try it again.
