Please keep Guy Kelley in your thoughts and prayers

Post by TDawg »

Hey all, I wanted to let you all know that my dad is in the hospital with a blood clot in his heart. They have him on a blood clot buster as they call it, and hopefully that will reduce it. He is in good spirits and the doctors are optimistic, so things are looking good so far. I will keep you all updated as I can.

Please say a prayer for him.

Good fishing,

Matt Kelley (TDawg)

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Hey all, thank you very much for all your prayers and kind words of healing and encouragement. My dad is doing much better and is moving closer to going home. They moved him out of the ICU today and into what they call the Cardiac Monitoring Unit. They still want to keep a close eye on him, but this is a definite upgrade. They did a chest x-ray this morning and it looks like the clots are getting smaller which is a big relief. They stared him on coumadin which is a blood thinner. Oh by the way he is at Kaiser Hospital on Deer Valley Road in Antioch on the second floor, sorry for not including that earlier. I am not sure exactly which room he is in as they have moved him around so many times due to a lack of patients that I can't keep track of them all. I will be going back out to see him tomorrow and will post his room number tomorrow night. He can have visitors also. I took him a couple bass west mags but he could always use some more reading material.

The nurses tell me that he is being a pretty good patient and isn't causing too much trouble. He is definitely anxious to get out of their and get back to work and more importantly fishing. He keeps asking for a cup of black coffee but the nurses bring him decaf because they don't want him to have any caffeine, which is driving him nuts. Also, he hasn't had a cigarette since Monday which is awesome, and he going to try and quit once he gets out. Pretty much his doctors have told him that he has to quit or else. He has also started loosing weight which is plans to continue.

My dad wanted to let everyone know that he appreciates the kind words and prayers that you have all sent his way. He appreciates knowing that everyone is pulling for him. He is anxious to get back on the water too, he just needs to get the boat fixed. Needs new fuel injectors.

Thank you all again for your kind words and prayers.

:D

Good fishing,

Matt

Hey all I wanted to let everyone know that my dad is going home this afternoon :D . They doctors say that he is doing well and the clots are getting smaller. Now he just needs to rest and get well. They still want to keep an eye on him so it looks like regular check-ups for the next 6 months.

Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers.

I am sure he will make a post here soon and somehow get everyone all worked up over something.  Everyone place nice when he comes back.

Good fishing,

Matt
