Changes at Bass West USA

Post by sTony »

After two years and 11 issues, I've decided to step away from Bass West USA and move on in a new direction with WesternBass.Com and it's affiliate websites.

The last two years have been a great experience for me, working with some of the absolute best folks in the industry. A person couldn't have been blessed with a better staff, the best contributors in the business and a great marketplace in which to present our book.

Bass West USA couldn't be left in more capable hands then those of my successor, Dan O'Sullivan. Under his guidance I'm sure the magazine will continue to thrive.

I'd also like to thank Mark Mendez for the once in a lifetime opportunity of working for Bass West USA.

I'm very proud of what we all accomplished together.

You accomplished some great things on this two year run, turning around the magazine's delivery times was a huge endeavor Im sure and GREATLY appreciated by use subscribers.

I will miss your contrbution at the WRL events, the tubes that you created and brought out to us, being there first thing in the AM, sleeping in your truck, taking pictures and video of us anglers in the pouring rain or the draining sun you were always there and appreciated. As I said in my message if you need anything brother Stoltz just give me a holler.

I am a bit nervous without the support of BTD will you be "downsizing" the WB mods and forcing us to take furlow fridays

Job well done. The magazine looks great. Tom Leogrande got Basswest the readership it has and now the current staff got the magazine deadlines and deliveries where they need to be.

I really do miss working for basswest, but love seeing the direction it has gone.

The WRL is like one of my 'home bases'. A comfort zone, so to speak. I'll still be working the WRL TOC for sure and, I believe, I'll still be there next year with Randy, Sheri and crew. Dude, I love working the WRL! Those anglers are a great group of guys, gals and kids. The tournaments are fun for the staff so they've got to be fun for the field. We're going keep growing the show while Randy keeps growing the tournament field. Ought to be a blast for some time to come!!!

sTony

PS - See you all down at The Hook for the pre-tournament festivities.

It sounds like Tony's next endeavor is this website and other related websites, as he mentions in his post at the top of this thread.

He walked away from AC and it appears as if he somehow also got his website back, as all the AC related ads are gone.

Another twist in the story. Hopefully there will be some sort of explanation as to who owns westernbass.com at some point in the near future. Those of us who advertise on this site would like to know who we are supporting.

Can't wait to see what you've got lying ahead Tony... Your work at Basswest was phenomenal and we are all sitting on threads.

Keep us alert and you will have a following of great fisherman and great people, like the ones on this site, and a fan base that feeds off of your hard work. I think we all feel apreciative of your past history of hard work and are amped for what lies next... if there is a next. (fingers crossed). :D Best wishes Tony... YOU ARE THE MAN...!!! Tony,
Best of Luck to you. In so many ways you have helped carve the way for the western bass fisherman; you have been a help to so many over the years.

Thank you for all you do, and all that you have done.

Jerry
