US OPEN BOOK Looking for past Open Winners

Post by meadbasser »

Hey fellas. In my continuing research on the U.S. Open, I am looking for some past Open winners, that I am unable to contact. The contact numbers I have received are outdated. If you know of these fine people I would appreciate it if you could let them know, I am interested in their story of their time at the great tournament and as champions of the U.S. Open. I feel the story of the Open will not be complete without the assistance of the Open champions.

Larry Hopper

John,

Rich Tauber is good friends with Gary Klein. Punch up Rich Tauber's Guide Service and give Rich a call. Gary is a true gentleman and I am sure that he would be happy to discuss past Opens with you.

As far as Wiggins and Clouse are concerned, maybe check with WON BASS as Clouse and Aaron Leon fished last years WON Team Championships at Mead. They may have current contact numbers for them.

Dave Gliebe has also fished WON BASS events this past season, so they are also a good bet to get in touch with them.

Nobody knows more about Lake Mead that former U.S. Open Champion Pat Donoho. I think someone probably Gary D can get you his contact information.

Larry Hopper lives right here in Orange and fishes WON and NBW teams all the time. Larry Ward lives in South Africa and is a hunting guide. Might try anyone in the Blythe Bass Club for his info. Rick G.

Check with CVS Stores in Las Vegas and Henderson Nevada for Kevin Wiggins, He worked for the old Long's Drug Stores, and now they have changed their name. Last time I spoke with him he was living just outside of Las Vegas.
