Ranger 519??

Post by skandy »

I often check out the classified ads for boats and see a lot of 520's and 521's, but rarely see and 519's. Are there just not many out there? Just curious??

I have a 2000 and I think it was the last year they were built at 20'6" and rated for a 225hp. They are great platforms to fish out of but then they went to 19' something and lost to to the 520 which was one of the best Boats ever built in my opinion.

Thats why I've kept this boat so long and it's payed for :D

I have a 2004 519 and what a fantastic rig. I havent incurred any problems with it and still running it today with a 200 optimax. Would love a little bigger boat just out of want not out of neccesity. Scott

I have an '06 519vx with a 200 E-TEC H.O. and I love it too. For a little boat it scoots right along.

I have a 07 519vs with a 200 Opti and love it. The size is perfect, it has a stable platform and the ride is smooth. Fast enough for me too. GPS was 70mph last time out. Altho I usually keep it around 3800rpm, it's good to know it has the giddy-up when needed. Last boat was 20.5ft and couldn't fit it in the garage. This one fits with room to spare and the single axle trailer makes moving it around a breeze. If you can find one, I recommend buying it. You won't b sorry.

My guess is that most tournament guys go for 20 or 21 foot now a days. They turn them more often. It wasn't many years ago that the 519 was the popular tournament boat. Guys have just got to liking the bigger boats. Also, many non tournament guys, or guys that fish a few events only, tend to keep their boats for years. There are a lot of 519 Rangers out there. Guys just hang onto them. Must be a reason, I guess they like them :D
