Jim Sleight Joins USAC San Diego Trail

Post by Bill Hutcheson »

U.S. Anglers Choice is pleased to announce the addition of Jim Sleight as our 2011 San Diego Trails Tournament Director. Jim has been a fixture on the San Diego fishing scene for the past 30 years and is well known for running the annual “El Cajon Ford” night series.

“I’m getting to a point in my life where I have some more time on my hands and am looking to get back into a “hands on” position in the San Diego fishing scene. I am looking forward to once again providing a quality trail to the San Diego area. I welcome my regulars and encourage any new team anglers to come and fish our trail”

“As far as knowledge, experience and overall qualifications are concerned, Anglers Choice could not ask for more in a director” noted Bill Hutcheson, USAC Director of Operations. “Jim is going to bring instant credibility to the San Diego trail and his seasoned staff which includes fisheries biologist Larry Botroff will be hard to beat”.

Sleight also noted that he will likely be adjusting the existing San Diego Region tournament schedule to place more events on Saturdays. “I know that Brian Linehan put together the current schedule so as to accommodate running two different circuits at the same time”, stated Sleight. “I am going to review the schedule as it stands and make changes where I think we can put fishermen on lakes at more advantageous times of the year”.

With Sleight coming on board, U.S. Anglers Choice will be doing some shuffling among the trails. Brian Linehan who is the current Inland Empire and Diamond Valley Nights trail director was slated to run the San Diego Trail. Linehan will now be running the Southern California trail which consists of Castaic and Pyramid Lakes. Jim Reyes who was previously slated to run the Southern California trail will be adding dates to his Piru Nights Trail and establishing a Western Rookie League trail that will cover the Southern California area.

Hi Lynn,

Ron is a teddy bear isn't he. You are so right about Ron.

We really like Henderson so far. Green Valley is so beautiful.

Are you already in NV Mike? Damn, that was quick!

What are you fishing this year? Are you and Clint still partnering up? Hope to see you at the AC Pro/Am if you're going!
