In it, it named DVL as one of the best largemouth fisheries in the Country! Now, I'm going to have to come fish it
. It seems we have great fisheries all over the west according to them, so why are they not out here with a circuit or are they doing damage control?

Rick, the way Kyle has been fishing.. You should rephrase that to:
"Come One, Come All Daddy needs son to buy him a new vacation home!!"

Re: Anybody get the BASS e-mail today?
Those who believe DVL is a better fishery than Shasta, Clear Lake, The Delta, etc.. need to get their head checked. DVL is a good lake (Spectacular if your last name is Grover) but to me it doesn't even compare to half the lakes in Northern California.

I agree Kevin.

Can't put 250 boats on the water at DVL like they can at Clearlake....the MWD won't allow it! Plus they burn cleaner on DVL as opposed to Clearlake, Merc's that is!

If your kids make as much money as Ray donates each year they will own Harvard! Then maybe they can teach him how to spell.

Give DVL another 10 to 15 years and then it will be a great lake. I agree with Kev on this. There are too many other lakes in California that blow DVL away...but give it some time...

Re: Anybody get the BASS e-mail today?
DVL fishes and is entirely too small to ever compare to the larger lakes up north. No amount of time is going to change that fact. I love DVL. The size of the bass is impressive. But when it comes down to it it's hard to fish a 100 boat field let alone a 200 boat field on that pond, motor restrictions or not.
Anybody that thinks differently on that simply can't have ever been on Clear Lake, Shasta, Oroville, Don Pedro and the California Delta. All of which are large enough to accommodate just about any number of boats.
The only other places I can think of out West that can comfortably handle a really large field are Mead, Powell and the Columbia River. Havasu is going to be a tough week for the Stren guys. Sure you can get a large field out on it but it'll likely end up fishing small for competitors.
Here's a quick list of norcal lakes that are substantially larger then DVL when measured in surface acres: Trinity (16,400), Shasta (30,000), Eagle (27,000), Almanor (28,000), Oroville (28,450), Clear Lake (43,000), Tahoe (105,000), Folsom (18,000), Berryessa (13,000), Camanche (7,700), New Melones (12,500), Don Pedro (12,960), McClure (7,100), San Luis (13,800).
Lakes of comparable size to DVL in norcal (from 4,000-5,000 surface acres) include: Bullards Bar, Black Butte, Davis, Big Sage, New Hogan, Bridgeport, Millerton and Pine Flat.
Just a couple pennies worth of thought which coming from me likely amounts to less, hahaha.
