It really depends on what your looking for. Personally I use 6 and 8lb 100% fluorcarbon Trilene. I will also use Big Game up to 10lb.
Fishing should be fun.

Personally I use Abraz-ex. It remains super limp and carries very little memory, But then again it all depends on your application

Try 15 Pound Braid and tie a Flur Leader.

10-15lb PowerPro braid. Casts a mile, no "springing" off the reel, virtually no give making it extremely sensitive. Tie on a flourocarbon leader with an Albright Knot.

Dart Heading, Tubes, split shot, drop shot, I use 8lb P-Line Flourclear. This stuff is strong durable and invisible. Hang up a darthead in thirty feet of water and you cannot breakit off!!

I like 4 to 8 lb flouroclear by P-Line. Depending on what I am fishing. Of late, however, I have been spooling with 8lb Fireline Crystal as my main line, then adding a 6 ft flouro leader. That is working super, no more fluffing off the reel and it has zero memory. Bill K :D

My personal favorite is P-line Halo Fluorocarbon in 6lb test.

Braid to fluorocarbon leader.

If you're talking a monofilament line though, I use McCoy Mean Green (co-polymer) for my spinning rods. Very low memory makes it great for those reels. But once I made the switch to braid on the rig I use most, I have no line twist any more. Still keep the McCoy on one other rod.

spinning reels suck. Use a bait caster for all of it........

I'm with ray on going all bait casters but for my spinning setups I've switched to 20 power pro braid and just use fluoro leaders depending on what or where I'm fishing. Works great, very sensitive and easy to use on any body of water.

If you have not tried it go to a Calcutta 50 for light line. Works awesome.

I have been using 6-10# fluoro for years and just made the switch to 5-10# braid using 6-10# fluoro leader and it is the best move you can make no more line twist and you don't have to respool any more then when the top half is done just simply transfer to another reel and use the second half new line on that end and your good to go.
