Started out last night doing some prep work for today, listening to the Eagles Farewell Tour CD, drinking some wine and enjoying the warmth of the fireplace that Mike started for us. Thinking that we were doing ok for time....it was about 10 p.m. We decided to bake 3 loaves of bread from a new recipe that Mike found on Cooks.com for us.
This morning we woke super early to start cooking since we were having some of our kids and their spouses (one that just got back from Afganistan two days ago) over for brunch.
So while I am cooking bacon, I decided to tease Mike with a strip of bacon since I knew that he was super hungry. I went out to our barn to give it to Mike and while I was down there our fire alarm goes off on the house SOOOOO loud. The the alarm company called cuz our fire alarm went off and asks if everything is fine...I told them well I just burnt the whole batch of bacon but the house is in tact thanks....then I tried the banana nut bread (3 loaves) finding out that it was horrible. I decided to quick like in a hurry cooked some pumpkin bread. Ended up that that bread never would totally cook no matter how many times I put it back in the oven. Mike put the Tri Tip on the barbecue 1/2 hour prior to the kids suppose to arrive....but as luck would have it the kids were late so we were able to pull it off

Mike and I wish you and your families the very best. We are very grateful for the support that you have given to National Bass West.
