I'm not much for oaths myself but this is as good a one as I can think of:

The Oath Keepers
The Oath Keepers
The great non sequitur committed by defenders of the State, including classical Aristotelian and Thomist philosophers, is to leap from the necessity of society to the necessity of the State.
Re: The Oath Keepers
Sorry, I fixed the link.
It's really slow loading for some reason but a damn good interview worth reading.

Re: The Oath Keepers
Good read so far. I'm glad he's spreading awareness throughout the necessary channels, hopefully he doesn't accidently pick up a bunch of extremists or Neo Nazi groups to dillute the cause. Maybe govt will plant that seed?
I didn't know this took place...
I was also very concerned with what happened during Hurricane Katrina, when police, National Guard, and even active duty military obeyed orders to confiscate the firearms of citizens who were simply trying to defend themselves and their property.

Re: The Oath Keepers
He seems smart enough to eek out false flags. He said he expected a credibility attack, to be made to look like a "Hutaree" type militia. Not that they were wackos, they were likely just painted that way.
The feds want any and every militia to look like wackos. They want the people to believe that only the federal govt can possibly protect them, as opposed to protecting themselves as was intended by the FF.
It would be a good thing if a few militias that were not founded around religion (no problem being religious just not the center of the organization) sprang up so as not to be painted as religious nut jobs. Stick to FF original documents and the Constitution. I'd love to see what handle they would try to get on them then.
Yeah, the NG took the guns and the criminals followed them around taking anything else. The army, who is NOT supposed to operate on US soil, assisted, so I read anyway.
Kind of how the Roman armies were not allowed inside Rome proper. The first crossing of that line was the end of the Republic and the start of the doomed Roman Empire.

Re: The Oath Keepers
BTW, the militia as intended by the FF would make the veterans disability discussed in the other thread a moot point.
When you only form to repel an attack happening in your own area, using your own resources, bought and paid for with your own money, would you then expect someone to pay you for getting hurt?
That's like expecting the people across town to pay for your injuries received in a fight with an intruder in your house.
Well, maybe the attackers would be liable, make them work it off when you defeat them, that is if they have no assets to cover the damage.
If the attack was to a degree where local militia's needed help from others then a payment arrangement might be in order. Or maybe just the agreement to reciprocate the favor if or when needed.
As far as covering the real costs of disability, some kind of insurance policy would be in order. The insurance company can them go after the attackers for compensation, running a profitable work camp using their labor if need be.

Re: The Oath Keepers
Definitely smart enough to "see" the false flags, but repelling and not tolerating them is gonna be a big task. Not to mention the govt seeds that will be planted in the media. I admire his tenacity and he seems to have the citizens interest at heart, hopefully he makes waves.Vince E wrote:He seems smart enough to eek out false flags. Considering New Orleans has one of the highest murder rates in the country I suppose it's not a reach to say it was a unique situation. Live and learn or was that learn to live?Yeah, the NG took the guns and the criminals followed them around taking anything else. Re: The Oath Keepers
When, no matter the local or it's history, you have a small group deciding who of the masses should be allowed to defend themselves.... freedom is gone.
At best convicted and known criminals should be watched a bit more closely but even that is a thin line.
The better solution is to ask those who are NOT known criminals if they have enough ammo. Hopefully, living where they do, they have armed themselves.
