Pro/Am Sign ups?????
Pro/Am Sign ups?????
I fish as an Am. I have fished 2 circuts the last couple of years WON and WCB. For me personally I like to fish all of the events or none. I kind of like the whole points race not that it really matters but its part of the fun for me. My issue is I send in deposites for all the events prior to the season starting. I DO NOT have a Pro to sign up with. And there have been time with both circuts that the week of the tournament I'm still waiting for Solo Pros to sign up so I can get in the event. I have been told with both circuts to go to the dock and stand by and hope for a no show or a last minute Pro to sign up. So my question is IF given a choice would people like the see signs up as a first come first serve for everyone or keep it the way it is(Sign up with a partner to ensure your spot.)? This is not a complaint I'm just curious.

Why not have an option for both on your poll?

I could be going off in the wrong direction but first come first serve would not work. Alot of boaters have AM's go with them to every event to cut down on costs. If for some reason they could not get in because of guys paying in full first of the year it would cause alot more issues than the other way around. My Co does not have to come out of pocket for the whole year up front because he knows he is secure signing up with me. I would say that co's need to find pro's to sign up with or have the org do it for them. This is the only way to fill the field without messing up gauranteed spots.

Yes definately the wrong direction. Should be first come first served period. A CO should never have to hunt for a pro to sign up with. If they pay thier money first they should be in.bigbass111 wrote:I could be going off in the wrong direction but first come first serve would not work. It is not the orgs responsibility or issue in regards to sharing costs ect...

First come, first served... ifn your signing w/ a Pro then get it in ASAP.... What would happen if your Pro has to bow out for some unforseen reason? I do have to say the Pro side always seems to wait until the last minute to sign up and that makes it tough. What I would like to see is a visible page where the matchups are set and viewed by all parties involved. When some one signs up they go right to the listings as either a Pro or AM, the next one signed up gets matched up and so on down the line. Then it will tell you if you are paired asap and you dont have to wait to find out.
My 02 cents....

You cant fix stupid, but you can vote it out...
Re: Pro/Am Sign ups?????
Bryan maybe you can explain how both would work???
Re: Pro/Am Sign ups?????
I was thinking if you sign up with a pro, you're both in, if not it's first come first served. Thinking about it, that's probably how it's done now isn't it, so maybe one or the other is better than both thinking back to what happened at Roosevelt last year.
Re: Pro/Am Sign ups?????
And there are already posts of AM on here trying to find someone to sign up with and basically jump ahead of everyone on the list. I guess everyone on the waiting list should make a post looking for a sign up partner???????
