Columbia River at Hood River

Post by mcbass »

I haven't fished this pool between Bonneville and Celilo, but I'm prepping for an upcoming Divisional in April. Does anyone know the name of this pool?

-thanks,

I believe it is called Lake Celilo but may be wrong. I've never fished it that early in the year, but the numbers are extremely high there. FishnMap has a pretty good map of the area that they label Columbia River Upper, it covers both this pool and the Umitilla pool.

It's important to find backup water close to the launch area as the wind there can be horrible. You'll know it's coming when several hundred wind surfers and sail boats start showing up. Good Luck!

The only time the wind doesn't blow is when it is changing directions :D
