Drain plug fiberglass repair

Post by gsc686s »

So at the end of this summer I noticed when I crank or tighten up my drain plug the drain hole (metal through hole fitting) is spining with the plug. Needless to say there is a very small trickle of water that now seeps in. Any one fixed this before? Who dose this work in Stockton area?

I had the drain plug tube replaced in my Basscat at Smooth as Glass in Riverbank. It was a few years ago, I cannot remeber how much it cost. Their telephone number is 209-8693545. It didn't take very long for them to do, about 1 hour.

I don't recall when Ranger changed to all fiberglass transums, if your boat is all fiberglass the repair is simple; replace the tube. If the transum is fiberglass over wood, then dry rot can be a major repair.
