Wow! 95 Boats at the AC/WRL McClure Tourney
Its good to see that the AC/WRL is drawing so well. Its a testament to Danny Peluso who runs a good circuit. I wish I was in a position to fish these again.

Re: Wow! 95 Boats at the AC/WRL McClure Tourney
2) PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: No team or individual will be allowed to fish if they individually or collectively have won more than $5000 and/or finished in the top 10 in the points race in a Pro-Teams or Pro-Am event during a given season. Money won from the back seat of a Pro/Am event or AC/WRL TOC does not count towards an individual’s winnings. Also, any individual(s) that are found to be a highly qualified team based on points races (top 5 in the angler of the year races) of any other circuit may be asked to fish at the pro level and not participate in the AC/WRL events. Final decision of all contestants being allowed to participate will be at the tournament directors’ discretion. Any angler who has qualified for a Pro Championship of any pro trail (100% BASS, B.A.S.S., F.L.W., EVERSTART, WESTERN BASS, W.O.N., ANGLER’S CHOICE, WEST COAST BASS, FEDERATION, REDMAN or CBC) in the past 10 years is ineligible to fish as an amateur on the AC/WRL tour. All participants must be current members of U.S. Anglers Choice to be eligible to participate.

Re: Wow! 95 Boats at the AC/WRL McClure Tourney
Thats awesome. I hope who ever is in charge of the so cal region starts spreading the word. I barely hear anything about it. Since its a new region it might need some help. That would be great to get those kinda numbers.....
Re: Wow! 95 Boats at the AC/WRL McClure Tourney
In a 6 tournaments per season Pro teams series 5000 dollars is a pretty good season. With the low numbers in Team events I'd bet if you won 5000.00 in a season you prolly won AOY, or close at least! (Unless one team just smashed on the field) I fished 100% bass future pro, and then it became 100% bass WRL, and I have watched it go from 3000.00 cap to 4000.00 cap, and now as AC WRL 5000.00 cap! When will the "Rookie" term be gone?Mike wrote:2) PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: No team or individual will be allowed to fish if they individually or collectively have won more than $5000 and/or finished in the top 10 in the points race in a Pro-Teams or Pro-Am event during a given season. 6000 next year? Just sayin.

g-man, Here's FPT's:
You are NOT eligible to fish the Future Pro Tour if any of the following apply: If you have earned $6,000 or more (in cash) individually or as part of a team in any one season - two times. Please note that money won as an amateur in Pro/Am competition or specialty events is excluded.
They already past that.
I just noticed that (In cash)....does that mean if you get a check it doesn't count?
I'm not hating either because I'm already fishing WRL and we may fish FPT also. Why? It's cheaper and even though the payouts also "cheaper"....they're not bad...especially with WRL.

6000 next year? Just sayin.
Not hating...
The size of the fields to these 'semi-pro' tournaments is what's making their paybacks such that make those earnings caps grow. When you payback over $3K to first place per event, it's pretty easy to reach those numbers competing in the WRL and the FPT.
A team could conceivably win one tournament, place in the top ten in a couple more and blank the rest of the season and exceed a $5,000.00 earning cap. A team could potentially not qualify for the TOC and exceed that limit. All because of the depth of the field.
If the 'pro-teams' were fishing in fields this large the earnings limits that are being set a the 'semi-pro' level would make a lot more sense to you. The only reason these numbers 'seem' high is because the pro teams aren't drawing well and therefore aren't paying back back the even larger bucks.

The WRL has awesome TD's...
Everyone of them was there @ the first event and that shows me something about the work and effort they are willing to put into it for us.
Danny Peluso was the reason I even started to fish tourneys...

Re: Wow! 95 Boats at the AC/WRL McClure Tourney
I'm aware of what your sayin Tony..
But raising the cap lets guys that have been fishin Teams step down. New guys to tourney fishin come into "Rookie" Leagues thinking that they trully are fishin rookie leagues when they are not...
For instance, A guy makes the 4000.00 cap the previous year, and moves up then the following year they don't do well, and the rookies cap gets raised so they move back down. It just don't make sense to me.
Again not hating, I think WRL has done a great job for their anglers, but to call it rookies? NOT

If the pro teams were drawing near a hundred boats on average their guys would be making ten of thousands potentially in a season. The numbers wouldn't seem odd as they do now. What the semi-pro orgs could do is put a more restricted cap on what they're paying out to the top spots and spread the money out over the field more and that might help. But the earnings caps are only off because of the failure to draw and pay at the 'higher' level.
