ISE Roundtable Seminar Question Contest

Post by kb »

Ok the ISE show is coming to Sacramento this week Thursday-Sunday at Cal Expo in Sacramento. We have an A-list of anglers on the Ultimate Bass Aquarium Demo tank this year and it is going to a fun week. Saturday at 12:30 we turn the microphone to the crowd for the Ultimate Bass Round Table Seminar and you all get to ask the questions. This 2 hour seminar is the highlight of our busy Saturday.

This year we will have an all star lineup with a last minute addition. Due to some family obligations Mike Long will not be able to make the show but we have been lucky enough to replace him with BASS Elite Series Pro John Murray from Arizona. Joining John will be Skeet Reese, Gary Dobyns, Cody Meyer and Ish Monroe.

Once again we will be taking 6 questions from Westernbass for all or one of the pro's and giving you a ticket to get into the show free. You will need to put your real name at the bottom of your question and you ticket will be left at the Will Call window in your name. No question will be selected without a valid name

For more information check out www.sportsexpos.com for discount coupons, tickets and seminar schedules.

See you at the show!!!!!

The Delta has been VERY tuff during this winter. What are the best strategies to help catch these confused fish? Please include size of components (line, weight and lure).

Thank You

My Question.

During a viewing of "Bass Battles" at Lake of the Ozarks, the one where Gary Dobyns slaps Mark Pack on the belly and say’s “you’re in big trouble Pack”. Well during the show Justin Rackley said, when he was returning the Bass he caught that it was a male. He said you can tell because of the bottom jaw of a male comes to a point. I have never heard or read about this. Is this true?

Now this is the six year I have submitted a question – this one has to be the best one yet!!! Don’t bother asking Gary, he already said he did not know – let’s go with Jimmy!

What is your "go to" technique when you are fishing and nothing else seems to be working.

I'll try to think of some more questions. Just wanted to make sure I get at least one on the board.

I think a great question because of the topic of low tournament numbers and now having Amature, semi-pro, and Pro-teams, how do anglers know when it's time to move up! Take the next step and fish as a pro rather than an am, or go from amature team to so called Pro-team etc.. How and what was the deciding factor for the round table guys to move up!

For Skeet... At the Duel on the Delta, on the final day all of the other contestents pulled their bag out of the live well filled with their catch for the day. You took your fish out one by one and put them in a dry bag only to lose by 1 ounce. If you had to do it all over again, would you have wet your bag 1st??

How long do you typically wait after not getting any bites before you move to a different spot? How long before you change baits?

Question for all:

What is your most confident technique/lure to use when the fog is dense in the winter on either a deep resevoir or a shallow lake?

Do you use a swivel or a knot to tie braid to leader material? Which size swivel and which knot.

Fishing the Delta, since most of the fishing is targeted toward the shore, when or do you ever use the depth finder? With all the fuss about the new down and side scanning capabilities, are these new depth finder even necessary or practical for fishing the shallow delta?

What seperates you guy's (the pro's) from the avid amature that spends all his free time fishing and learning when he's not working his 9 to 5 job? Ability? Time on the water? Being able to read and adjust accordingly? What makes the difference?

Thanks

A question for all:

Do you take barometric air pressure into account when you are trying to develop a plan on game day? Moreover, what barometer reading to you prefer to fish?

Thanks for doing this again KB.

After you have been successful fishing in the spring and summer but not as good in the winter, when do you think its time to move in to tournaments? Is it worth it yet? When do you decided?

You change your fishing lines quite often. Where do you send or drop-off the old fishing line for recycling?

Gentleman, I have a delta question But it's kind of broad. Let's assume it's late spring (April) to early summer (June). High tide is at 10:30am so you are going to catch it coming in and going out. How would you approach your fishing day as far as a game plan of chasing tides, where to start, where to finish and what types of presentations to make? What are you looking for in terms of types of area and structure?

Thanks

If you could magically dispossess one professional angler of his/her go to mastered fishing technique to add to your repertoire, what angler and what technique would that be? And not as a defensive move  .

You're confident you can catch a top 20 limit worming a couple particular areas of a lake most times of the year. With limited pre-fishing opportunities, what key decision do you make in practice to find those fish that could potentially move you into the top 10 & money? Change location & stick with what's catching the decent fish, same location different technique/bait, or change both?

Questions to all pros:

What is your approach when entering a tourney or fun fishing where the fishes are heavily pressured such as the delta? Does your strategies or tactics change versus other fishing hole?
