ABA Silverwood lake 1-29-11

Post by bump »

The third tournament for the ABA high desert region of the season is quickly approaching so come out and have a great time. We should have a better turn out than has been lately and the I am sure the grub will be awesome too. ( As Usual) So come out and be the team to dethrone the current leaders.
Hope to see you there.

Good luck and great fishing

Lets get out to the Silverwood this Saturday and do alittle fishing. I hear the bite is fair so will take alittle work to catch them. I'm hearing we could be getting a couple of new team out this weekend. So come out and surport Mona and Todd. They are working real hard to build this region up.

Doesn't look like anyone looking for points is interested in this lake due to the new rule of 10 boats. The win last time only netted 100 points because of the new rule, only nine showed up. I will be there because I have to use up my free entries from last years AOY. I wonder what rule they will change next year to help bring in more fishermen. Maybe 20 teams have to be present because they can draw at least 21 at DVL.

Lats I heard the level is right at 10' down from full pool, However it was down close to 40' due to the cal aqueduct being drained to get the vehecles out and clean it up a bit. The aqueduct is at capacity right now but I don't know the condition of the lake since they refilled the canal

Should make things very interesting. When was it down 40' and how fast is it refilling if you know and don't mind letting me know. I can't find enough time to get out there to look. Is there a sight that shows it up daily like Castaic has.

thanks larry

The lake went down about 23' vertical feet, then it came back up to full pool. This was at the end of December, when they closed the ramp for a few days. It went down again, to about 18' below full pool about a week and a half ago and it's slowly coming back up. It's around 13' low as of Tuesday.

Hi Guy's & Gal's

I just wanted to post a litte information on this next tournament:
Silverwood Lake will open gates at 8:00am, all anglers will meet at front gate
due to staff shortage and budget cutbacks.

Basic entry will be 165.00 & 15.00 ins & conservation fee, plus options.

So come out and have some fun & food.
Water elevation is about 25 to 30 feet down per Ranger.
