Congrats on that gorgeous fish and a the beating you handed out!. Looks like he had em dialed in for sure. Looks like for the most part the lake is fishing kinda tough, a lot of big name DVL guys had a tough day out there it seems like.

Or just flat won't do it.

Until guys/teams are DQ'd for bringing floaters things won't change. I have worked for every organization in SoCal(less ABA) from LA to DV and I have seen it first hand since 05'. Some of the teams bring entire limits of floaters to the release pen or end of the dock. Its too bad too, because the fish pay the ultimate price for a complete lack of respect for the one thing the angler should respect the most....THE FISH.

Oh, by the way, nice finish Troy. Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Solo for 30 lbs+...thats just wrong

WOW is right, we all were saying that while each fish was put into a bag!! Great job Troy!!!!

Guy's really need to figure out the deflating precess because it just makes us all look bad with all the dead fish but also sometimes even the best at keeping good care of their fish have one die every so often for no reason than bad luck.

The bite for the most part was tough but if you found a spot and milked it you could get a limit but size was a biatch!! The bite from here on out should just get better.

Its the small fish, [under 13"] that are the ones that you have to bring in slow to keep from getting the rockcod syndrome. The better quality keepers, if you needle them right away they have no problem staying alive. But you have to get ALL the air out. But then again, after the beatdown Troy gave us fishing shallow, why bother fishing deep anyway. Great job Troy. Rick G.

Also, you have to leave some air in the bladder. If you squeeze all of it out, you'll kill the fish as well.

exactly, there are so many videos on how to fizz a lmb. and a few different companys making tools for this too. i use the bends mender, it comes with directions on both ways to de-flate a fish... brian is right. i go thru the mouth just above the crushers, insert the needle, and hold the fish until the air bubbles stop, and she is good to go. its a shame the tourney guys are not mandated by rules to do this. to lose so many fish is terrible, not only at dvl but all our deep lakes.. and congrats to troy for the AMAZING weight and the win.... you guys wonder why he and bill do so well at castaic, these guys are sticks
